Default Pin this loss on Cassel

Got your attention didn't I? I just think it's outrageous that everyone wants to throw Cassel under the bus. I understand that to the casual observer the QB is the highest profile position and so it makes sense to blame him. He didn't play his best game, but here's what I saw from this ugly game from the Chiefs:

1.) Studebaker with a HOLDING call to negate a 41-yard field goal. Holding on any field goal attempt is inexcusable, it should never happen.

2.) Jacoby Ford's kickoff return for a TD. Killed all of the momentum after a 10 point lead.

3.) At least 3 plays of 1 yard to go for a first down getting stuffed. Thomas Jones was ineffective in short yardage situations.

4.) Berry's holding penalty (or maybe it was illegal block in the back) on the Arenas return TD. Once again, momentum would have taken a huge turn in our favor but the Chiefs once again shot themselves in the foot.

5.) Brandon Flowers played one of the worst games I have seen from him. The dropped interception on the last drive that setup the game tying field goal was horrible. Through his hands, right into Ford's hands. He then proceeded to get beat to setup the game winning field goal. Campbell was not afraid to go after Flowers, and rookie Jacoby Ford made him look like an average cornerback instead. I'm sorry, but I expect more out of a guy who is being labeled as "shutdown". Ford had 4 catches for 37 yards all year coming into this game and finished yesterday with 6 for 148 yards.

6.) I gotta pick on Carr too. The play where Jacoby Ford fell on the ground and hauled in a pass at the 8 yard line was terrible. Carr never looked for the ball, he should have easily batted that down.

7.) The defense as a whole had a chance to stop the Raiders from getting a game tying field goal. No timeouts and a minute and a half left. The defense has to get it done there.

8.) Dwayne Bowe's drop on 3rd and long with less than 2 minutes left. He catches that ball, it seals the deal and the Raiders don't get the ball back.

9.) Receiving corps as a whole. The receivers have to get open when they are stacking 8 guys in the box to stop the run. Didn't seem like it was happening.

10.) Matt Cassel doesn't go without blame. The INT before the half is inexcusable and without it we most likely go into the half up 13-0. He also missed some passes that he should have had downfield. His accuracy has to get better.

Too many mistakes on both sides of the ball to win this one. The team we saw yesterday was very reminiscent to me of the one that has haunted me the last 3 years. They need to make a statement next week in Denver. For now, I'm worried.

If we somehow someway get a REAL number 1 Wr this offense will look so much better. I don't care how we do it but we have to get a number 1 WR. It would help the running game it would help Matt Cassel it would help D bowe. Look at Bowes best year it was when we had a number 1 target in Tony G. A real number 1 WR would go so far to improve this offense. I think it is MUCH more of a need then anther qb. Maybe as important as getting upgrades on the o line. Something we have to do IMO.

It wasn't a good pass huh? What game were you watching? That pass to bowe hit him right in the numbers and his hands and he dropped it. How was that not a good pass?

I agree 100% with this, Cassel does not look like the best at times but what he did for NE when he a a complete team was impressive. I saw him run for like 8 or 9 yrds on a play that most would have been sacked on. Give Tony M another year and I think he will be as Tony G was at first. I am getting a Tony M jersey for sure.

Ahh Again, we have to explain the obvious to you.

First, Moeaki has shown all year that he has the capability to catch the ball when asked and in clutch situations. No one expects someone to catch every single pass thrown to them, but Moeki has done a pretty good job with his consistency.

Yes he had a bad game yesterday, but he has shown he is a good player and has the consistency to be a good target.

Bowe on the other hand has shown consistency in his inability to catch the ball. It's not like this was one bad game for him, it is a continuation of three years og bad games for him.

Then going back to his celebration where he had such sticky hands he could not drop the ball, well that is gone now, again.

Bowe is like Jose Conseco. He is awesome when the game it not on the line and he needs a clutch hit. When the game is on his shoulders, he cannot do crap.

At first, I thought the ball was thrown horribly, but after watching the replays, that pass was thrown exactly where it needed to be to keep the defender from making a play on it. Bowe simply has to make that catch, he has shown consistently he cannot do it.

Are you man enough? Eric Berry? Apparently Not!

It was a team lose.Like Bowe not making a crucial catch at the end of the fourth qaurter. Not scoring in touchdowns in the red zone and the refs calling that penalty on Berry when arenas took the kickofff the distance.Berry didn't block in the back.It was a great block. We need to finish drives with touchdowns.I'm not taking anything away from the Raiders but we didnt put them away when we had the chance. It was a learning experience.Next time put them away. One last thing, did you see that holding On Gillberry ,when Cambell threw that last long pass. Were was the flag on that

As Forrest Gump would say "I Hap pens" Look I am disgusted because we lost to the raiders just like anyone else but I cant believe how many people arte giving up on "thier" team kinda makes me dissappointed and sick. Look its the raiders it doesnt matter if we had Peyton freakin Manning and Larry Fitzgerald to go with our players now it for whatever reason is a dog fight with Oakland because we HATE each other ! We should of and could of won that game but they got a kicker who can boot 60 + yarders. Should Bowe caught the first down pass? Yeah Should Flowers got the INT yeah, Hell Carr def should of knocked down that long pass to Ford it comes down to one thing and that is heart and Sunday the Faiders had more heart and desire to win.

Did Cassel sleep with your girlfriend, steal something from you???? D-Bowe is not a number 1 receiver hardly someone you can rely on in clutch plays. My beef is the coaching...3rd and 3 and you run a yard route for the hope a break a tackle with someone who probably won't get it done...aahhhhhh!

I would agree with any other game but we all know the faders dont have an heart, there is a reason they call it the black hole. I call this luck and the lack of our own heart. Maybe our team needed this loss and we dont know it yet but we will find out with the rest of the season and when they come to town.

You're right. It wasn't a good pass. It went between the hands of Bowe.

IT WENT BETWEEN THE HANDS OF BOWE!

Actually he tried to catch the ball with his body rather than his hands and thats why he missed it. The pass where EXACTLY where it was supposed to be though.
