He didn't leave on the best of terms, but there's no denying he's laid some of the foundation for this team. A very good read.

That article just confirms what I thought was true, the Stadium renovations was top priority. There is no doubt that Carl Peterson help or created the fan base of the Chiefs. He did a great job for the Chiefs, but it was time for him to go.
Carl Peterson's finger prints will be on this team for a long time. Both good and bad. Carl did make a few good draft picks in his final years. Derrick Johson Brandon Flowers Glen Dorsey Jamal Charles to name a few. But he also made a lot of moves that HURT this football team. He ran out one of the best pass rushers in the game in Jarad Allen. He signed Larry Johson to far to big of a contract. Then when it was clear that he was not getting the job done anymore kept him. When it comes to Carl there was alot of good and a lot of bad things. More bad then good in the final few years and that's why it was his time to go. But you do have to thank Carl for the good things that he did in KC.
THIS!!
He was great for the Chiefs in his peak, but he became too full of himself...I think. Maybe took his job with the Chiefs and relationship with the Hunts for granted...that he could do whatever 'he' wanted, regardless of consequences. His arrogance and bringing in his buddies did him in...in the end.

"The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall. The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. That's the essence of it." ~Vince Lombardi~
great businessman, horrible manager...IMO. I know it wont be a popular comment, but I actually think Herm deserves alot of credit for some of the drafts he put together. Its not like CP and Vermil left him with alot to work with, or any depth, especially on the o-line. We should have been better prepared for the departures of Roaf and Shields.
