Default Chiefs 7 Point Under Dogs Against Chargers

NFL Picks: Most Taking Chargers Over Chiefs With Matt Cassel's Status Unknown

by Joel Thorman on Dec 10, 2010 12:33 PM CST in 2010 Kansas City Chiefs Season

The Kansas City Chiefs are seven point underdogs for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers depending on where you look. The Chiefs opened the week as seven point underdogs and that didn't change when news of Cassel's appendectomy came out on Wednesday (though some have taken the game off the board). Cassel's status is still unknown but apparently that's not making this a difficult decision for the oddsmakers.
Here are a few links to the NFL picks for Week 14:
Sports Illustrated (Peter King): "Can't see this being a Chargers' walkover with Matt Cassel out. Don't forget that last year, with three minutes to go at Baltimore, Brodie Croyle had the Chiefs tied 24-24."
ESPN: Two people pick the Chiefs -- Eric Allen and Mike Golic. Everyone else goes with the Chargers.
Yahoo! Sports: Everyone picks the Chargers.
CBS Sports: Everyone picks the Chargers.
Surprised? I'm really not. The odds are stacked against Kansas City this week.
Then again, we said that in Week 1, too.

I welcome being the underdog because as young of a team that we are I think that will motivate them to see that all the experts are saying that they can't go into San Diego and beat the Chargers.

7 is not as much as I thought it was going to be. I was expecting 10 or more out of these odds makers with Cassel being out.

Are you man enough? Eric Berry? Apparently Not!

With us being the underdogs I think it keeps our guys eyes on the prize and not let this game get out of sight.
