    Default The worst thing ever.

I had to put my dog to sleep at 1 a.m. yesterday morning. It was awful, I was torn for weeks between letting her die naturally or putting her to sleep. Then she was having complications the other night and I was going to wait till the morning. I had to make the decision to take her to the emergency hospitably and put her down.

I felt I did the right thing and not waiting till morning. I believe she was having seizures on the way there. I think her body was trying to shut down. A horrific thing to witness, but I am glad I did the right thing.

Here is to my dog, Annie.

    Sorry to hear that.

Mine is still just a puppy, at 2 1/2 years old.

But, just one year ago, she was hit by a car on the highway and I thought she was not going to make it.

Fortunately, she was able to pull through without the expensive surgery that the hospital was suggesting. Otherwise, I would have had to have her put to sleep.

I remember when we got to the hospital and they gave her a sedative, I kissed her goodbye, expecting that I may never see her again.

She (Carly) is a pain in the a**. But I am happy to have her with me.

I recommend that you don't hesitate to get another dog.

Annie may not be replaceable. But a new bond can help minimize the anguish of loss.

No dogs for me for awhile. My heart is broken and I don't feel like replacing her now. Maybe her in 5 years I will be ready. Animals are so much work and I need a break.

just spent $3800 to save our "Gabby", she's 12 years old and is a member of the family. Gabby will probably die of old age before we pay that off but it would have been devastating to lose her. I can sympathize with you.

    AHHH....I'm sorry.
Feel good knowing that she isn't suffering any longer. You did the right thing.
It's obvious that you loved her very much and gave her a wonderful life.

Ending her suffering was the right thing to do, but it doesn't make you miss her any less. You're a good person and I commend you.
