    Kansas City Chiefs
CHIEFS ROOKIE WR DWAYNE BOWE NAMED ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

The NFL announced on Friday that Chiefs rookie WR Dwayne Bowe was named the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for his game vs. Minnesota (9/23). Fans voted for Bowe on NFL.com and via Sprint wireless services.
Bowe caught five passes for 71 yards with a touchdown in the Chiefs 13-10 victory vs. Minnesota. The LSU product made an acrobatic 16-yard scoring reception on a pass from QB Damon Huard in the fourth quarter that proved to be the difference in the game. It marked his second consecutive game with a touchdown catch. He has played in three games (two starts) in 2007, posting 10 catches for 135 yards (13.5 avg.) with a pair of scoring grabs.
The Miami, Florida native entered the NFL as the Chiefs first-round selection (23rd overall) this year of LSU. Bowe finished his collegiate career with 154 catches for 2,403 yards (15.6 avg.) with a school-record 26 TDs.

At this point the competition for ROY seems to be between Bowe and APeterson who rattled off another 100 yard effort this week. Although if Bowe continues his ways KC will make the playoffs making him a much more valuable contributor than AP.

The 49ers own my heart, but the Chiefs will always hold a better than neutral spot for giving my favorite player a place to leave with grace...

Agreed. If Bowe keeps up this level of play and the Chiefs keep making the proper adjustments and clamping down in the second half to win games, Bowe will have a good chance at taking the ROY honor home this season.
Thanks for all the yards, TDs, and memories, Priest!

Bowe is a stud! defenses are gonna have to begin accounting for him which, hopefully, should begin to open things up for Tony G. and LJ
