    Jets Fan Suing Belichick

A Jets season ticket holder filed a class-action lawsuit Friday against the Patriots and coach Bill Belichick for deceiving customers.

The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Newark, N.J., by Carl Mayer of Princeton Township, N.J., stems from the Patriots being caught illegally videotaping signals from Jets coaches in New England's 38-14 season-opening win Sept. 9.

"They violated the integrity of the game," Mayer's attorney, Bruce Afran said. "This is a way of punishing Belichick and the Patriots."

Mayer is seeking more than $184 million in damages for Jets ticket holders.

"They were deceiving customers," said Mayer, 48. "You can't deceive customers."

From a legal standpoint, it sure looks like there is a case to be made here. I'd have to put it at about fifty-fifty, if it goes to court. And I'll give them eighty percent, on getting a settlement out of the Pats.

    Sportsbook event?!

    Victory by verdict 100/1
    Victory by settlement 10/1
    Case Dismissed 1/2
Countersuit leveled by Pats wins 2/1

The case could wind-up taking a very long time and the press could also lose interest. Making it too difficult to follow. It's just a bit too cloudy of a bet, I think.

There is no way this guy will win anything. If he does every fan in the US can sue for lack of wins or something from certain teams.
