The Kansas City Chiefs have said they want quarterback Matt Cassel to stay with the Chiefs as long as possible. They stated as much when they hired Jim Zorn as a quarterbacks coach to help Cassel develop as a player. The new collective bargaining agreement also must be worked out for anything to happen. ESPN reports head coach Todd Haley stated the Chiefs are treating Cassel as a young quarterback without much experience. He played backup for four years at USC and then was the second string under Tom Brady in New England.
