NEVER! That all I will say about this question! However the article, that this question is in, is a very good read.
If they wind-up feeling so pressured as to actually do something, then they could always keep the name, and change the emblem to a fire Chief's hat.
The word Chief is not exclusively Native-American.
I really don't get why any Native-American would have an issue with it. But there is one option.
