There's a difference in being a realist and using common logic. NO ONE has ever said Cassel is an elite QB. He is a GAME MANAGER. He did what he could in this game giving the plays he was told to run. In which in my opinion, the calls simply were not very good ones.

Did the early pressure on our QB factor in? The horrible defense? The inspired play of our opponent?

This is on the coaches and staff.
From philosophy ( true 2 gap 3-4 D without the LBs / DL for it, going to a 2 down lineman set on long yardage downs ) to playcalling ( don't need to elaborate there ) to personnel ( Matt @ QB, no real NT, still a need @ 2 LB spots, etc ). The franchise is in bad shape - gonna be a long season.

Poor play calling. Poor execution. Poor planning. Poor adjustments. Could this have been a worse game? Now just think about the fact that this is the 30th ranked team in the NFL.
