No, the family didn't stop talking to police...those news headlines were very misleading. The parents had little to no sleep in days working with police. They were emotionally & physically exhausted, in addition to dealing with the trauma of their missing daughter. They told police they needed a break, some rest. From that point it became twisted in the media...no surprise, the media world today is totally irresponsible and unaccountable, and definitely unreliable for the true facts...they spin for ratings which = profit. Enticing headlines sell to the masses.

As far as lie detector tests...the mother willingly agreed to take one, & they told her she failed. She is the one who told the world she took a lie dectector test...the cops didn't release that info. It's not unusual for investigaters to 'fib' to break down witnesses or possible suspects. Who knows if she really failed it or not. Due to past histories of a parent ending up responsible for missing babies...they are automatically stereo typed these days as suspects. Sadly, not all parents are responsible, past cases have hindered all cases now...much time & effort is wasted interogating parents first, rather than looking for someone else who may be responsible.

If she did fail, it still doesn't mean she had anything to do with her baby's disappearance. There is a justified reason lie detector tests aren't admissible evidence in a court of law...they're not conclusive or accurate. :/
