I believe Phillips is out. Tolbert was most likely going to be out. And Gates was questionable.

CHARGERS: Injuries sapping Bolts' defense

SAN DIEGO — The Chargers' defense is thinning out. The unit is losing bodies at a rapid rate, devouring a depth chart once full of talent and experience.

Safety Bob Sanders is gone for the season. Outside linebacker Larry English is, too. Defensive end Luis Castillo has been out for an extended period, and outside linebacker Shaun Phillips is out for at least Monday's game at Kansas City, maybe more.

Just six members of the original first team remain, either through attrition or poor performance, leaving many to play too often or too far from their comfort zone.

KC Chiefs Need to Come After Philip Rivers: Fan Take

Philip Rivers(notes) is a quarterback with an image problem. NFL News speculates the play caller of the San Diego Chargers is having some kind of unspecified injury based upon his numbers. Rivers has nine interceptions and only seven touchdowns. Yet somehow, the Chargers are 4-2 and lead the AFC West going into a clash with their rivals the Kansas City Chiefs. Rivers will play a game in hostile territory at Arrowhead Stadium Oct. 31.
