The browns have had two winning seasons since they returned to the NFL in '99. Crennel has one of them.
DBolan didn't mention that they had 4 starting QB's go down that year. Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Ken Dorsey, and Gradkowski (who was actually added mid-season)
And you have got to be kidding me, the most talented person on the roster was the Kick Returner??
Lewis was over the hill, but he actually had his first 1300 yard season since 2003 (Crennel Brought him to Cleveland)
The team actually finished 10-6 in 2007, but similar to the Chiefs season this year, had lots of injuries that led to the 4-12 season.
Now that I look at it, any talent that was on that team was brought in by Crennel...
Kamerion Wimbley
DQwell Jackson
Braylon Edwards
Jammal Lewis
Joe Thomas
Brodney Pool
Jerome Harrison
Lawrence Vickers
I always thought Crennel was done dirty in Cleveland. Talk about injuries. But they still managed to be in most games they were severely overmatched in. He is 64, so it's more than likely this 3 years will be his swan song in the NFL. I hope for him (and us but mostly him) he can have the huge success such a class act deserves. I love it! Let's bring on the 2012 season.
Here is the video for the press conference announcing Crennel as head coach. I really like what I heard from him, but he was very vague about Kyle Orton's future with the team.

This space is reserved for something that has nothing whatsoever to do with MatthewsChiefs. (Whoever THAT is!)
Did you notice when asked about QB's he said we have Matt and Stanzi, nothing was said about Palko! Yea!!!!
I for one am happy that crennel is the hc. I know he had a disapointing stint in cleveland but i do think ges an intelligent guy and should be able to avoid mistakes he might have made with the browns. Also i think since hes been here with us already, hes aware of the qb situation and can make a more informed decision on how to deal with it than a new coach just walking through the doors. Since cleveland was considered a failure in his coaching history, the fact that he was so eager to coach again shows he learned a few things since then and is confident that he can do better this time wich hopefully works in our favor. The difference between him and haley is day and night, and ill admit i liked haley until these last couple of months. Haley rebuilt bowe into a better reciever and threw larry johnson outta here so he still contributed alot to this team.
Oh yeah, the last coach we had come here from the browns worked out pretty good. Marty be thy name. Lol! I know it makes no signifigant impact but im just throwing out some history. Lol!

If you look at the history of the Cleveland Browns you will
notice that the winning pct.. is not very good after Paul Brown left. In fact
since Marty left the team has not had a winning coach since. They have had some
winning seasons but not a winning tradition. With this fact I do not hold
Crennel’s record at Cleveland against him. I will wait and see.
Cleveland is where sick teams go to get well
