When Bowe learns to constantly catch the easy pass, then he will be the number one receiver we all hope he is. He did show signs of being better this year, but still far too many dropped passes that hit him cleanly in the hands.

And I am not talking about those that he had to dive for or was in the middle of getting hit or something like that, we are talking about easy to catch well thrown balls where he lost SFO us because his excitement to take off running kicked in before he made the catch

Are you man enough? Eric Berry? Apparently Not!

I just did a quick look at all the receivers this year and dropped passes and came up with a "drop %" (data was taken from ProFootballFocus.com).

Basically, drop % is the number of drops divided by the total number of targets a player had.

    What I found

    League average: 6.58%
    Bowe: 7.69% (slightly above average)

Bowe ranked 40th among 115 receivers in drop %(qualifier was that to be included, a receiver had to have played in at least 25% of his teams snaps).

    The full list:

Bowe was slightly below average, but his 49th ranking puts him in the 65th percentile, so almost 2 out of 3 recievers had better "hands" than Bowe.

Also, the "Average" is a little misleading. 56% of receivers were better than average and only 44% were bleow average. The median score is a bit lower at 6.3%.

There is no question that Bowe makes some amazing catches. That just makes it all the more frustrating when he drops the easy ones. He just needs to concentrate more and not be looking to run upfield before he has caught the pass.

so out of 115 WR's he's 40 I mean that's high but not as bad as I thought really he's only only about 1% off being average at drops. Look at Fitzgerald 2% crazy and he gets thrown to a lot!

Yep!! I'm still remembering that one in the end zone against the Faiders!

I stopped trusting the data from PFF about 2 years ago. Take Demaryius Thomas, for instance - I've watched him average 2 drops a game. When there are only <12 passes a game, there is no way he is ranked just below Bowe.

Bowe is a good receiver. He could be better. I do not know if the Chiefs will pay him what he wants. I definitely want to keep him here, not up to me though.

I'm not too sure anyone will pay him what he wants but if a team like the 9ers, saints, pats or any play off type team makes a decent offer I'm sure he will take it...
