I honestly don't know how anybody can blame Huard or the play-calling for the horrible performance yesterday. We opened the game passing and stuck with it pretty much all the way because we had no run game. Passing the ball is the ONLY thing we did even remotely well, yesterday. Huard and mainly Solari have deservedly taken some heat and have both been the source of some well-placed doubts. Again though, they provided the only bright spot for us yesterday at all!

The problem was not only the absolutely disgusting lack of a run game but special teams as well. Far more impactful than the missed field-goal on the first drive, was Eddie Drummond's fear of catching a punt and running with it! We started every drive with horrible field position because he let every punt go and bounce down inside the 10-yard line. Drummond's timidness on punt-returns was unacceptable from a guy we brought in to do this job, specifically.

Another huge contributing factor in our loss yesterday, was Ty Law's inability to cover on third downs. It looked like Law was playing in Greg Robinson's "read and react" style defense when we used to see the Chiefs playing off the recievers so far on third-and-long that a conversion seemed almost inevitable every time. That was the worst coverage I have seen out of any Chiefs' defender this year.

Of course, a lot of the blame for yesterday rides squarely on the shoulders of Larry Johnson and the offensive line. 10 yards rushing at home? I want my money back!

You may disagree but.......

Certain players huh?
Do you mean the guys up front that directly relate to running the ball?
Or is it the guys up front that directly relate to protecting the QB so he has time to get the ball down field accuratly?
Or maybe the guys up front that are suppose to keep the rushers from getting in the back field and almost blocking a field goal?

Or....sarcasm is running rampade here!!!

It is quite difficult to attack, or defend the paly-calling, from yesterdays game, without the game tapes that the teams get. Even then, you would need to know what Solari was looking at. But I doubt that Solari is capable, at this point, of visually breaking-down a defenses tendancies and schemes. Albeit, Jacksonville is a pretty tough defense to manipulate. I just don't think that an O-line coach has a great understanding of passing routes and such.

For example, if you have ever seen Ron Jaworski break-down offensive schemes and why they are effective against particular defenses, then you can see what I am talking about. I don't think Solari is doing too well, at that.

I could easily be wrong on that. As I said, it is difficult to determine what is going through Solaris mind, in his offensive design.

Yeah, those guys and a few others. Like Drummond and LJ (yes, I am putting some blame on LJ. He looks like he has gained weight and slowed down from what he was last year and before. I put a lot of blame on his hold-out for this.)

In an earlier post Herm came up with the nickname Broyle since he was tired of deciding between Brodie and Croyle. I have used it some but have also went with Croyle on occasion. Would love to see him cook though. Go Chiefs
