Default Quick Recap for those who missed the game!

Gonzalez sets record as Chiefs keep Bengals skidding

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Tony Gonzalez caught nine passes for 102 yards with two touchdowns and Larry Johnson rushed for 119 yards and another score as the Kansas City Chiefs held on to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals, 27-20, at Arrowhead Stadium.
Gonzalez's first touchdown of the contest in the late stages of the first quarter was his 63rd career receiving score, which surpassed Shannon Sharpe for most by a tight end in NFL history.
Damon Huard finished 25-of-35 passing for 264 yards with two touchdowns for Kansas City (3-3), which rebounded from a 17-7 loss to Jacksonville last week. The Chiefs have won three of their last four contests.
Jeff Webb grabbed seven passes for 78 yards and Jared Allen chipped in with 2 1/2 sacks for KC.
Carson Palmer was 26-of-43 passing for 320 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions for the Bengals (1-4), who have dropped four in a row since beating Baltimore in the first game of the season.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh pulled in eight passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns, while Chad Johnson had eight grabs for 83 yards. Kenny Watson, making his first start for the Bengals in place of an injured Rudi Johnson, rushed for 68 yards on 13 carries.
With the Chiefs holding a 20-7 lead after a scoreless third quarter, the Bengals got three back when Shayne Graham kicked a 33-yard field goal early in the fourth. Palmer completed 5-of-6 passes on the drive following a lost fumble by Webb.
KC got some insurance midway through the fourth quarter when Huard found Gonzalez in the end zone for a 26-yard TD to make it 27-10.
Houshmandzadeh's 30-yard TD grab from Palmer with just over five minutes remaining got the Bengals within 27-17.
Following a failed offensive series and punt by KC, Cincinnati moved the ball inside Chiefs' territory, but on 1st-and-15, Palmer's pass over the middle was picked off by Bernard Pollard.
Kansas City went three-and-out and Cincinnati made it a 27-20 game following a 36-yard field goal by Graham with 20 seconds left. The Bengals' onside kick was recovered by KC and the Chiefs ran out the clock to end the contest.
The Chiefs got on the board first when they went 49 yards on 12 plays on the first set of the contest. Dave Rayner capped the drive when he nailed a 32- yard field goal. Cincinnati committed two personal fouls that aided Kansas City's cause.
Cincinnati answered on its initial offensive set when Houshmandzadeh pulled in a 42-yard touchdown grab from Palmer to make it a 7-3 game.
After both teams traded punts, the Chiefs got the ball back and went on the offensive attack. Starting at the Bengals 44, Larry Johnson ripped off a 20- yard run on the second play of the set and following a short run by Michael Bennett, Huard hit Gonzalez with back-to-back passes, moving the ball down to the Bengals three. Johnson then was thrown for a two-yard loss, but Huard hooked up with Gonzalez in the right corner of the end zone for a three-yard scoring strike to put Cincinnati ahead 10-7.
The Bengals tried answering with points on their next series, but facing a 2nd-and-5 near midfield, Allen fired off the right end and sacked Palmer for an eight-yard loss, forcing the Cincinnati signal-caller to fumble. The ball was recovered by Kansas City at the Cincinnati 45.
It appeared the home team was about to capitalize on the turnover with Huard leading the troops down the field to the Bengals 30. After Johnson was stopped for a five-yard loss, he carried the ball on the next play and looked like he was going in for a score, but the running back was stripped at the one-yard line by Deltha O'Neal with the ball going through the end zone for a touchback and the Bengals took over.
In a turnover-filled first half, Palmer gave the ball right back to KC on the third play of the set. Looking for Chad Johnson along the sidelines, Patrick Surtain jumped the route and picked off the pass at the Cincinnati 46.
The Chiefs converted a key 3rd-and-5 on the ensuing drive when Huard connected with Gonzalez for 17 yards and on the next play found the big tight end for 10 more, advancing the ball to the Bengals 12. Two plays later Larry Johnson went around left end and into the end zone from eight yards out to give KC a 17-7 advantage with just over six minutes left in the first half.
Following Cincinnati's third consecutive three-and-out in the late stages of the half, KC put three more on the board when Rayner booted a 20-yard field goal, capping 10-play, 58-yard drive to make it 20-7 heading into the intermission.

I was glad to see Tony G. brake the record twice! Once when he took it from Shannon Sharp and then again when he broke his own record.
