Default Please don't make the same mistake..

Well the weather is crappy here so don't feel like doing much. So instead i'm just sitting inside and being disgusted even more by watching/listening/reading everything i can involving the chiefs. For the most part i generally stay pretty quiet on this forum except for gameday. But i figured i would make a post kind of laying out the worries i have with this whole fiasco. PLEASE PLEASE do not make the same mistakes the raiders have/are/and continuing to make. I have been a chiefs fan since montana came here. I've never given up hope and i've never been ashamed of this team until this year. Now i'm not saying i will no longer be a fan because that's just not in my blood to be a quitter. But i am disgusted by not only the team, the organization but by the fans aswell. I don't know if it's ok to talk about it here but i lurk on the other CP forum and am disgusted by all the negative av's, negative threads, and negative signature pictures of the team that i love. As angry as i am at this whole ordeal i would never resort to the garbage i'm seeing from alot of fans. The banner being flown over the stadium? We seriously are becoming the raiders. Our organization is in disarray, our fans are running rampid and preaching anarchy.

This team has got so many issues that are so ingrained but the constant hate and bashing of the QB is atrocious. It scares me so much that we are going to throw all our chips in on a "franchise" QB and this is just going to spiral even further down the rabbit hole. The raiders thought they were a QB away from being dominant. And look where they are... Sound familiar? There are so many similiarities between the raiders and the chiefs right now it gives me nausea! Raiders are no longer the laughing stock of the NFL and AFC West doormat, we are.

Now in no way am i saying we should not draft a QB, my personal opinion is cassel can win, i think cassel is a good QB, however he has got to play better and smarter. I'm not against drafting a QB but i think our focus as a team, organization, and fanbase is to fix the deeper issues which is the loosing culture that is now ingrained into this franchise. The revolt of the fanbase, and the coaching of one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. There are only a handful of people that know whats going on behind the curtains and i can lean one way for firing pioli and i can lean another for keeping him as he has built an impressive roster just not got the correct teachers to mold and sculpt it. I just hope that for this fanbase and organization and my beloved team that clark makes the right decision.

Now as far as the coaching i'm all ready to drop the nuke on it. I was not a fan of romeo being hired and my fears were realized 100%. He's to soft and timid and not a teacher this team needs. Whatever it is i hope they fix it over the bye week and get the wheels in motion to get the CORRECT people in here to run this team. I hope the TEAM steps up and starts playing like they are winners and want to win. I hope matt comes back with a renewed fire under him and his team steps up to help him quiet some of the critics. I hope we as fans step up and put the childish raider antics behind us. Keep our BS under control and trust that the powers that be will not let this organization fall into the disarray that is known as the black hole.

Come draft day have faith that the powers that be make the best decision for this franchise whether it be a Qb or whatever else. But unless we fix the internal structure whatever QB we get will be deemed a bust in the first season and anarchy and riots will ensue.

Thanks connie i appreciate it, especially coming from you as i follow your posts and you also post with intelligence and respect which i find refreshing in these dark times.

I've kind of just been reading and studying and took awhile to respond to this thread and i'm sure i'll miss some of what people are talking about but let me just say.

I am just as frustrated as the next fan with this team. I am most certainly not saying that we as fans do not deserve to be frustrated cause we do. What i'm saying is that the tastefulness of alot of the fans is down right wrong. And what other teams that we used to look down on when we were sitting on our high horses have become. The black out, the banners, the nicknames and pictures and spoofs that "fans" are making for players on this team is just awful. I voice my displeasure with this team but i do it like a respectful fan should. These players go out there and lay it on the line for us fans and we ridicule them beyond belief. And why? Cause we sit on our couch or in the stands and think we know what is going on? Would you play for this coaching staff? Would you throw everything in on something you doubted or were put into a ****ty situation? We have the talent. This roster is leaps and bounds above our 2010 roster yet we sit here with this taste in our mouth. It starts at the top and works down. i will preach this till the end the biggest problem on this team is the coaching, teaching, and mentoring that is going on in this organization. The loosing mentality is so ingrained and the spirits so broken with the players i don't think we will turn it around until a change is made. Like i've said i'm not on the firing pioli bandwagon but i'm not against it either, i'm neutral and have faith that clark hunt has just as much love for this team as we do and will make the right decision. Now i would have liked to see a coaching change during the bye week but it wasn't so we'll move forward.

Look i'm a cassel supporter.. I'll support any damn player that is wearing the red and gold come sunday. And will be behind them 100%. I've never wished a player on this team to fail. I'm criticized players and wanted players gone but cassel is not one of them. Cassel can be a winner he's proved it. I don't care about his stats against winning teams.. Any team on any given sunday can whoop your *** if you don't play your best ball. Cassel tore it up in 2010 and it wasn't until the reports of the haley/weiss feud and that weiss was indeed leaving that the wheels came off. I'm fine with cassel being the QB until a better option comes. Although he does need to pick it up and minimize the mistakes.

As far as the draft. You can put me on the official HELL TO THE NO on drafting Geno. I watched a little bit of him and watched him play last night and no way in hell would i want him on my team. He's inaccurate (throws high), gets happy feet in the pocket and when he does get happy feet and leaves the pocket he no longer looks downfield he just looks to try to get outside. He's a system QB, He's not a natural leader. Seeing him throwing a fit on the sidelines throwing stuff around and scowling everyone, not to mention the reports of feuding with fans and throwin gangsigns up to opposing fans i want nothing to do with it. I'm all for taking a QB in 1st round aslong as we change the coaching to get the right coaches around him. Or else we just stunted his growth with this inept coaching staff and we'll be screaming bloody murder when he fails to.
The QB i'd want at this point with watching would be barkley. Natural leader, good arm (not elite), good pocket presence and throws great with a rolling pocket, and when he is flushed out of the pocket he keeps his eyes downfield looking to throw, Has good touch and runs a prostyle offense. I've seen a couple others play but none have really stood out as a for sure top 5 pick which is where we are headed unless something changes.

and i will also say that i have not thrown in the towel yet. I believe 10-6 wins this division and i think this team has the tools to run the table the rest of the season. If this coaching staff gets their **** togeather and gets this team ready to play i think we can win this thing out.

    GO CHIEFS!
