The Kansas City Chiefs will start Matt Cassel at quarterback on Thursday as Brady Quinn (right) is sidelined by a concussion. 2011 fifth round pick Ricky Stanzi will be Cassel's only backup against the San Diego Chargers. The Chiefs will also be without cornerback Stanford Routt, who was limited in Tuesday and Wednesday's practices by a hamstring injury. For the Chargers, they'll have starting quarterback Philip Rivers, but will be without a pair of veteran wide receivers they brought in via free agency. Robert Meachem, who signed a four-year, $25.5 million contract that included $14 million in guarantees, will miss Thursday night's game with a hamstring injury that had him listed as "questionable" on Wednesday's injury report. The Chargers also signed Eddie Royal to a three-year, $13.5 million contract that included $6 million in guaranteed money. Royal is also sidelined by a hamstring injury. Combined, Meachem and Royal will earn $15 million this season and have 25 receptions for 287 yards and three touchdowns on the season. On the bright side for the Chargers, nose tackle Antonio Garay is active for the first time this season.
