I looked into that awhile back and the PS3 had really bad stream ratings and the picture was supposedly really poor as well. IIRC the computer stream required a subscription to directv and was an add on. I'm not 100% sure on that but I remember it was far better and cheaper to buy a subscription and get the free ticket the first year, pay the second and barter for the third when your agreement was up.
