Would definitely require a switch to 4-3. Lovie has a great eye for defensive football. He would take this passive defense and turn them into ball hawks. Unfortunately, his offense have always underachieved.

I don't think he's the best fit here and he'll probably be a defensive coordinator for a while.

i'd be ok with him as a DC if he can make the personnel work without blowing it up, but not as HC

I was getting ready to post this too. I think it would be nice to bring him in for some coaching spot.

Smith had an 81-63 record, and was 3-3 in the playoffs. The team, however, failed to qualify for the postseason in his final two years, going 18-14.
He, technically, has a winning record and is better than what we've had, but I really don't see him as someone who'll take us to the promised land so to speak.

No thanks as head coach. Chicago hasn't done much since the sb they lost 6 years ago.

He's also runs the Tampa 2 D doesn't he? A bit more aggressive version but still tampa2.

DJ failed in that system when Herm was here. I'm not against the idea of switching to a 43 just not high on his. We have no mountain man like Urlacher.

He's not the HC we need. another player friendly coach that only accomplishes anything when his QB feels like playing that day. No Thanks.

Hiring a defensive coach just isn't smart. They need a hard *** who cares about offense.

Agreed. Defense has some weak spots but that offense was horrid.
