Only four years though
This is good news. Four years is a good amount of time, figure out what we have with him, and a great opportunity for him to earn a bigger paycheck down the road.
Although he is getting a kings ransom (not surprising for the number one pick), the deal is very cap friendly. We are currently 605k over the cap (http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/cap-hit/). I imagine as people get cut that should sort itself out by the time the season starts. Then again, I don't even know what the consequence is to being slightly over the cap.
If the Chiefs are to become SB champions again, I want it be outright -- something that cannot be truthfully said for the '97 and '98 Donks as they had those given to them by the league office.
