The Chiefs got a scare on Monday when running back Jamaal Charles needed to be carted off the field at practice after an injury, but it looks like serious injury was averted. According to several reporters who were in attendance at Chiefs practice, coach Andy Reid said that x-rays on Charles’ foot were negative. There’s… Read more…

Give Charles all the time he needs to be 100% come opening day as ctchiefsfan stated in another thread regarding Fisher. They don't need to put everything on the line in preseason.

Even watching him in the first preseason game. Every time he got touched I had a small panic attack. He remembers how to run, no need to get pounded 4 extra weeks.

At the same time though, he needs to get in "game" shape. He only ran a series in the NO game. No way a guy can slide through preseason and all of a sudden play in a real game. Remember when Haley thought that was good idea? taking it easy on the team after the lockout? We lost 3 starters.
I in no way want to see JC hurt in any fashion, but he's got to take/give a few licks before the opener. If JC was fine with not running in the preseason, we need a new running back.

Just put him out there for a couple of plays, enough of this screen/goal line crap.
