I read that he was more "quick" than fast. He gets off the LOS and gets open quickly. That won't matter much if he can't catch, or hang on to the ball. He has also been described as "slippery" --- hard to tackle in the open field.

I don't know if he is an upgrade from Baldwin, but he's no worse for sure.
And he will save the Chiefs some money while they waste a roster spot on him (possibly).
Smith is familiar with him from practicing with him in SF. Maybe the new environment will spark him to play better. We'll just have to wait and see.
