Apparently, Flowers restructured his contract to help the Chiefs free up more cap space. He didnt take a pay cut, they just shifted how he gets paid so that we have more room in the salary cap. We now have 4.9 million.
Personally, I dont think that this is because we are planning on bringing someone specific in, but rather to give some breathing room in case we have to sign someone because of an injury. It also gives us some freedom to cut some people with high cap numbers (i.e. AJ Jenkins) without putting us over. Also, I think if we end up not using it, we can roll it over into next year's salary cap.
