    Default Weekly Power Rankings

    Why was last week's thread deleted!?

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division for week 3:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) They have earned this spot after their impressive performance against the Giants. Von Miller has not been missed as much as we thought.
    Denver ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    2/3(+1) Denver's plus-40 point differential is tops in the league after convincing wins against the Ravens and Giants. The way the Broncos have played, hosting the Raiders Monday night doesn't seem scary.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    1/2(+1) Simply put ... Peyton Manning is going to have his best season since 2004, when he threw for 49 touchdowns. Maybe better.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    11/18(+7) Andy Reid takes an unbeaten team back to face his former team Thursday night in Philadelphia. He does so with a defense that has really impressed.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com 13/20(+7) Why are the Chiefs 2-0? Start with Kansas City's defense, which leads the league with 35.4 expected points added in the Chiefs' first two games.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    10/17(+7) In just two weeks, the Chiefs have already matched last year's win total and Alex Smith's four passing touchdowns are already half of what the Chiefs threw for all of last season.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    17/28(+11) They showed a lot by winning that game at Philadelphia on a short week. Philip Rivers was special.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 16/26(+10) Philip Rivers showed up in a big way Sunday. Rivers was 7-of-9 against extra rushers in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning TD to Eddie Royal.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    16/23(+7) Mike McCoy, Ken Wisenhunt and Philip Rivers appear to have made for a good match, but Eddie Royal is going to come back down to Earth sometime soon.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    28/30(+2) We move them up based on their victory against the Jaguars, but this is about as high as they will go. Then again, they could be 2-0.
    Oakland ESPN.com 29/31(+2) It's early, but Terrelle Pryor's 46.6 Total QBR is 21st in the league and ranks higher than Super Bowl winners Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco and Ben Roethlisberger.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    31/31(-) Big deal ... they beat the Jaguars.

    Brian Billick is not impressed...

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division after Week 9:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) They get a bye before their huge game at Denver. They can't be faulted for their record, no matter what.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) Say what you will about a vanilla offensive performance Sunday, but the undefeated Chiefs keep finding ways to win. Kansas City has a bye to prep for Denver.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    3/1(-2) That old saying "defense wins championships" was true a decade ago, but I'm not sure it holds up in today's NFL. The Chiefs are going to need more from their offense to win down the stretch.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    3/4(+1) They come off the bye with the news that their coach won't be around for a while since John Fox is having heart surgery. The month of November is huge for them.
    Denver ESPN.com 3/2(-1) Hopefully the Broncos rested on their bye, because Denver gets six straight games against teams currently at or above .500, including three of the next four on the road.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    1/3(+2) Get well soon, John Fox. We are thinking about you.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    17/14(-3) They still have four games left against the Broncos and Chiefs. Those games will decide their playoff fate.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 15/11(-4) The Chargers couldn't convert three plays from the 1-yard line and lost in overtime. San Diego is 2-of-11 converting from the 1 this season, less than half the league average.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    15/11(-4) The Chargers almost won the game in regulation with seconds to go, but couldn't score from the half-yard line. Then let the Redskins march down the field on overtime and punch it in to end the game.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    27/24(-3) Just when you think they are ready to take a step forward, they lay an egg like they did against the Eagles. Yecch.
    Oakland ESPN.com 24/22(-2) After quintupling their season total of touchdown passes allowed at least 15 yards downfield, the Raiders head east to face the Giants and a once-formidable downfield passing attack.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    27/28(+1) Terrelle Pryor has shown flashes, but he now has four multi-interception games on his resume this season and has gone two straight games without throwing a touchdown.

    And next weeks opponent ...

    Nobody. Chiefs have a bye.

    because its power rankings and not standings, and their Offense rank and defense rank is more balance than KC's

    Another week, another backup QB dispatched with extreme prejudice,
    and another week that makes you wonder exactly what Alex Smith is capable of
    against an upper-echelon opponent that's going to take 24 points or more to
    beat. Putting the Chiefs higher than fourth basically certifies them as a
    favorite to reach the Super Bowl, so consider this. In 2000, Trent Dilfer of the
    Ravens was 20th in the league in yards per attempt among QBs who threw at least
    200 passes. In 2002, Brad Johnson was 16th. The Chiefs currently rank 31st, and
    that's only due to the pure havoc that Josh Freeman wrought on the Tampa Bay
    passing game. Even if you think the Chiefs D is the equal of all-time greats
    like the 2000 Ravens or 2002 Buccaneers, it's being asked to do even MORE heavy
    lifting than those units due to KC's punchless passing attack

    What is your power rankings for the BCS?

    I don't think so of you understand the difference between a power ranking (opinion) and standings (fact)
