    Default Weekly Power Rankings

    Why was last week's thread deleted!?

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division for week 3:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) They have earned this spot after their impressive performance against the Giants. Von Miller has not been missed as much as we thought.
    Denver ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    2/3(+1) Denver's plus-40 point differential is tops in the league after convincing wins against the Ravens and Giants. The way the Broncos have played, hosting the Raiders Monday night doesn't seem scary.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    1/2(+1) Simply put ... Peyton Manning is going to have his best season since 2004, when he threw for 49 touchdowns. Maybe better.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    11/18(+7) Andy Reid takes an unbeaten team back to face his former team Thursday night in Philadelphia. He does so with a defense that has really impressed.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com 13/20(+7) Why are the Chiefs 2-0? Start with Kansas City's defense, which leads the league with 35.4 expected points added in the Chiefs' first two games.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    10/17(+7) In just two weeks, the Chiefs have already matched last year's win total and Alex Smith's four passing touchdowns are already half of what the Chiefs threw for all of last season.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    17/28(+11) They showed a lot by winning that game at Philadelphia on a short week. Philip Rivers was special.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 16/26(+10) Philip Rivers showed up in a big way Sunday. Rivers was 7-of-9 against extra rushers in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning TD to Eddie Royal.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    16/23(+7) Mike McCoy, Ken Wisenhunt and Philip Rivers appear to have made for a good match, but Eddie Royal is going to come back down to Earth sometime soon.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    28/30(+2) We move them up based on their victory against the Jaguars, but this is about as high as they will go. Then again, they could be 2-0.
    Oakland ESPN.com 29/31(+2) It's early, but Terrelle Pryor's 46.6 Total QBR is 21st in the league and ranks higher than Super Bowl winners Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco and Ben Roethlisberger.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    31/31(-) Big deal ... they beat the Jaguars.

    the way they probably look at is

    - They lost at Indy (power rankings are more based if teams played on a netural field)

    - They almost came back to win to beat indy

    - Indy has GREAT wins (2 at home, den and sea, 1 on the road, SF), but some suspect loses (SD and Miami)

    Indy, SF, Seattle all have a balanced team, not a one side of the ball is better than the other

    but my power rankings, denver and KC would be around 4-6

    No big surprises this week. It is what it is ...

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division after Week 10:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) We will find out all about them this week when they go to Denver. Are they for real?
    Kansas_City ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) The Chiefs are 9-0, with all nine wins coming against teams currently .500 or worse. Get ready, because Denver and Kansas City meet in two of the next three weeks.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    2/3(+1) In their last five games, the Chiefs have beaten Ryan Fitzpatrick, Terelle Pryor, Case Keenum, Jason Campbell, and Jeff Tuel. That's not an impressive list. They will get their first test of the season this weekend against the Broncos.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    3/3(-) It's all about the Broncos' offense vs. the Chiefs' defense this week. That will decide the game.
    Denver ESPN.com 2/3(+1) Denver is 8-0 against teams currently at or below .500 and lost to the only opponent with a winning record (Colts). Denver's next three? Chiefs, at Patriots, at Chiefs.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    1/1(-) The Broncos scored just seven points in the second half against the Chargers on Sunday. That is more than two touchdowns fewer than their second-half scoring average of 23.9.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    18/17(-1) After losing to the Broncos, the Chargers have another East Coast trip. The schedule maker hasn't been kind.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 17/15(-2) Another Denver game, another Denver loss. San Diego has lost four straight to the Broncos, its longest streak against Denver since losing five straight in 1997-99.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    16/15(-1) The Chargers lost their second straight game and their five losses this season have come by a combined total of just 30 points.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    29/27(-2) The question was whether Terrelle Pryor was the long-term answer. It doesn't look like it.
    Oakland ESPN.com 27/24(-3) Talk about boom or bust. Oakland's Total QBR has been above 65 (Pro-Bowl level, four times) or below 30 (five times) in every game this season. Sunday was bust.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    30/27(-3) Dennis Allen is just 1-11 on the road as the Raiders head coach and Terrelle Pryor has gone three straight games without throwing a touchdown.

    And next weeks opponent ...

    As you might expect, the Chiefs fell a little bit this week, but not as much as you might expect. Even Prisco gave us a little respect.

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division after Week 11:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    3/1(-2) They did some good things at Denver, but that offense is too limited. At some point, it has to improve in the passing game.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    3/1(-2) Back to the drawing board for the Chiefs defense. Peyton Manning wasn't sacked and posted a 66.5 Total QBR, more than doubling what Kansas City previously allowed this season (24.1).
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    3/2(-1) The Chiefs had 35 sacks in the first seven games of the season but have just one in the last three. I'm guessing KC won't be playing as much man coverage against Manning in two weeks.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    2/3(+1) They showed against the Chiefs they are the class of the AFC. Now comes another chance to show it against the Patriots.
    Denver ESPN.com 1/2(+1) A major key in Denver's win was limiting Kansas City's best threat. Jamaal Charles finished with 72 yards from scrimmage, the first time he failed to reach 96 this season.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    1/1(-) Remember when passing for 300-or-more yards was a big deal? Well, Peyton Manning has done it in nine of 10 games this season.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    20/18(-2) They've spent way too much time on the East Coast and it seemed to show up in Miami. That wears on a team.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 18/17(-1) Philip Rivers was 4-for-10 for 94 yards and an interception on throws at least 15 yards downfield Sunday. Rivers entered Sunday with the third-best completion percentage on deep throws.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    21/16(-5) The Chargers' six losses this season have come by a combined 34-point margin. That's less than a touchdown per loss.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    26/29(+3) Matt McGloin did some good things against the Texans. He should stay in as quarterback.
    Oakland ESPN.com 26/27(+1) Rashad Jennings' 109 rush yards after contact Sunday was the most for any player this season. Jennings was the third player to top 100 in a game (C.J. Spiller and Adrian Peterson).
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    25/30(+5) Dennis Allen won just his second game on the road as a head coach with a quarterback that started the season on the practice squad.

    And next weeks opponent ...

    The Chiefs and Broncos are going in the wrong direction while the Chargers get way-too-much credit for beating us with Hali and Houston out. Didn't they notice that the "offensively challenged" Chiefs put up 38 points on them?

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division after Week 12:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    6/3(-3) The injuries are a major concern. What will they do if they don't have Tamba Hali and Justin Houston for long periods of time?
    Kansas_City ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    6/3(-3) Ladarius Green's 60-yard touchdown reception was the third time Kansas City's defense has allowed at least 45 yards after the catch this season. Only the Rams (four) have more.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    7/3(-4) The Chiefs are in serious jeopardy of losing three straight, particularly if Tamba Hali and Justin Houston have to miss time.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    4/2(-2) Losing the way they did against the Patriots has to sting. But now they have a huge game at Kansas City.
    Denver ESPN.com 3/1(-2) Don't blame Knowshon Moreno, who rushed for 224 yards Sunday, most by a Bronco since Clinton Portis in 2002. Peyton Manning's 4.2 yards per pass attempt was his lowest in a game since 2005.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    5/1(-4) This is the first time in Peyton Manning's NFL career that he has lost after holding a 24-point lead at halftime.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    14/20(+6) Philip Rivers is a special kind of player and he shows it against the Chiefs. He better hope his line can keep that Cincinnati rush off him this week.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 15/18(+3) The Chargers gained 228 yards after the catch Sunday, their most this season. San Diego was the third team to record at least 10 YAC on 10 catches in a game.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    16/21(+5) Philip Rivers has officially re-entered the debate of elite quarterbacks. He was 27-of-39 for 392 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    26/29(-) They have a short week for Matt McGloin to get ready to play the Cowboys. That will be tough for a rookie.
    Oakland ESPN.com 26/26(-) When it's bad for the Raiders, it's BAD. Justin Hunter and Kendall Wright became the fourth set of teammates to both top the 100-yard receiving mark against Oakland this season.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    27/25(-2) In three games without Terrelle Pryor as their starting quarterback, the Raiders are 1-2 but have scored more points per game.

    And next weeks opponent ...

    DEATH TO DONKEYS!!!!!! We can beat them in Arrowhead, but we need Hali and Houston back or their replacements to take a big step up and say....."I'm as good as they are"......and then prove it. That plus a good performance by our Offense will CRUSH the donkeys!!!!!!!

    The knock on the Chiefs has always been that their offense can't score. Now they put up 69 points in the last 2 games and drop in the rankings.

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division after Week 13:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    6/3(-) Losing three in a row sure has changed the mentality of this team's playoff hopes. But they have turned it around in a big way this season.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    7/6(-1) Jamaal Charles had almost twice as many yards from scrimmage (120) than in the Chiefs' Week 11 loss to Denver (66). No one has more 120-yard games than Charles (eight).
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    8/7(-1) During the Chiefs' current three-game losing streak, the defense has allowed 34.3 points per game. During their 9-0 start, they were allowing just 12.3.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    3/4(+1) They showed the Chiefs who owns the division. Now they have to hold on for the top seed in the AFC.
    Denver ESPN.com 2/3(+1) Way to bounce back. Peyton Manning completed as many deep passes to Eric Decker (5-of-6, 3 TDs) as he had total deep completions in his previous three games combined.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    3/5(+2) Eric Decker's 174 yards and four touchdowns put him on an exclusive list that includes only Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens. That's pretty good company.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    15/14(-1) They still have three of their last four at home, so at 5-7, the postseason is still possible.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 16/15(-1) The Chargers had 11 drives Sunday, but reached the red zone only once (lost fumble). San Diego had at least three red zone scores in every game this season entering Sunday.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    17/18(-1) WR Keenan Allen is a future star in this league.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    24/26(+2) They have to use the next four weeks to see if Matt McGloin deserves a shot next season.
    Oakland ESPN.com 25/26(+1) Andre Holmes had seven catches for 136 yards Thursday against the Cowboys. Going into the game, Holmes had five catches for 76 yards in his career.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    27/27(-) The Raiders have now lost four straight games on Thanksgiving, but their last win was against the Bills in 1968.

    And next weeks opponent ...

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    31/28(-3) The offensive line is getting Robert Griffin III killed. Is it going to get Mike Shanahan fired?
    Washington ESPN.com 30/29(-1) A fourth straight loss Sunday mathematically eliminated Washington from the playoffs, officially making this season a disappointment. Will they play spoiler for the Cowboys and Giants in Weeks 16 and 17?
    Redskins Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    29/30(-1) The Redskins have now been officially eliminated from the playoffs.

    Chiefs offense has averaged 37 ppg in the last 3 games. Last week they got their defense back and they have the best special teams in the NFL. So they are getting some love from the experts right? Wrong!

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division after Week 14:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    7/6(-1) They snapped their three-game losing streak with an impressive road victory at Washington. But the opponent didn't offer much in return.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    7/7(-) Jamaal Charles had 19 rushes for 151 yards and a touchdown Sunday, with 74 rushing yards after contact the second-highest total of his career (152, 2009, Week 17 vs. Broncos).
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    8/8(-) The Chiefs' 35-point win over the Redskins on Sunday was the third-largest margin of victory for any team this season and was KC's largest margin since 2006.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    1/3(+2) They've worked their way back to the top after two impressive weeks. They are the best team in the AFC right now.
    Denver ESPN.com 2/2(-) Peyton Manning was 35-of-45 with four touchdowns when the Titans brought four or fewer pass-rushers Sunday. The Titans had allowed only three passing touchdowns with standard pressure all season.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    2/3(+1) The Broncos have scored the most points in the first 13 games of a season in NFL history - 12 more than the 2007 New England Patriots.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    15/15(-) They essentially are playing for their season this week in Denver. Lose, and they'll have big problems.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 17/16(-1) Philip Rivers completed 17 of 23 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns against four or fewer rushers. A sixth team has to make it in the AFC -- why not the Chargers?
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    17/17(-1) Philip Rivers completed 75 percent of his passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns, good for his highest passer rating of the season. He continues to lead the league in completion percentage.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    28/24(-4) They didn't come close to showing up against the Jets. That's not a good sign for Dennis Allen.
    Oakland ESPN.com 28/25(-3) Rich Gannon's not walking through that door. Sunday's loss ensured the Raiders would finish below .500, a mark Oakland hasn't finished above since 2002.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    30/27(-3) The Raiders have now lost three straight for the first time this season and are just 1-4 when starting a quarterback other than Terrelle Pryor.

    And next weeks opponent ...
