    Default Weekly Power Rankings

    Why was last week's thread deleted!?

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division for week 3:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) They have earned this spot after their impressive performance against the Giants. Von Miller has not been missed as much as we thought.
    Denver ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    2/3(+1) Denver's plus-40 point differential is tops in the league after convincing wins against the Ravens and Giants. The way the Broncos have played, hosting the Raiders Monday night doesn't seem scary.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    1/2(+1) Simply put ... Peyton Manning is going to have his best season since 2004, when he threw for 49 touchdowns. Maybe better.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    11/18(+7) Andy Reid takes an unbeaten team back to face his former team Thursday night in Philadelphia. He does so with a defense that has really impressed.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com 13/20(+7) Why are the Chiefs 2-0? Start with Kansas City's defense, which leads the league with 35.4 expected points added in the Chiefs' first two games.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    10/17(+7) In just two weeks, the Chiefs have already matched last year's win total and Alex Smith's four passing touchdowns are already half of what the Chiefs threw for all of last season.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    17/28(+11) They showed a lot by winning that game at Philadelphia on a short week. Philip Rivers was special.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 16/26(+10) Philip Rivers showed up in a big way Sunday. Rivers was 7-of-9 against extra rushers in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning TD to Eddie Royal.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    16/23(+7) Mike McCoy, Ken Wisenhunt and Philip Rivers appear to have made for a good match, but Eddie Royal is going to come back down to Earth sometime soon.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    28/30(+2) We move them up based on their victory against the Jaguars, but this is about as high as they will go. Then again, they could be 2-0.
    Oakland ESPN.com 29/31(+2) It's early, but Terrelle Pryor's 46.6 Total QBR is 21st in the league and ranks higher than Super Bowl winners Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco and Ben Roethlisberger.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    31/31(-) Big deal ... they beat the Jaguars.

    At one point last week I checked in on the site and some sort of hacker bs message came up, admin stomped it out quick but the power rankings and Em's video along with a couple others got deleted when they eliminated the bug. I believe.

    Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense. I noticed the "Geno Smith sucked tonight" thread was gone earlier, but I didn't think anything about it.

    Chiefs are getting much respect. That makes me nervous...

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division for Week 4:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) Hard to believe it, but Peyton Manning is getting better. He has 12 touchdown passes in three games. Good luck stopping this offense.
    Denver ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    2/2(-) Four Broncos have at least 190 receiving yards through three games. The Packers are the only other team with even three of those receivers. How do you stop that?
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) Peyton Manning will tell you that the Broncos offense still has plenty of things to work on, but I can tell you that most teams don't even look this sharp in 7-on-7 drills during practice.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    5/11(+6) You have to give the defense all the accolades so far. They are getting after it. I still worry about the passing game's ability to go deep.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com 8/13(+5) The Chiefs have disrupted a league-high 33 drop-backs, or 24 percent of drop-backs they've faced this year (sack, pass defended or interception). No team has finished above 22 percent since 2008.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    7/19(+3) The Chiefs have now surpassed their entire 2012 win total and are the first team in NFL history to start a season 3-0 following a season in which they lost 14 or more games.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    19/28(-2) They are 1-2, but they've been in every game. Progress is being made. They just don't have enough talent yet.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 19/16(-3) Is Philip Rivers good or not? Only Peyton Manning has more passing touchdowns, one year after Rivers' 42 Total QBR ranked 30th among qualified quarterbacks. Hosting Dallas is a good test.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    19/16(-3) Philip Rivers looks like the league's most improved player after three weeks. His 83.3 completion percentage on Sunday was good for the second-most accurate day of his career.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    26/28(+2) They just don't have the players to compete with a team like Denver. It won't help that Terrelle Pryor suffered a concussion, either.
    Oakland ESPN.com 30/29(-1) Terrelle Pryor has posted a Total QBR above 55 in two of his three games this season, something Colin Kaepernick, Matt Schaub, Eli Manning and Andy Dalton can't say.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    31/31(-) Terrelle Pryor made some big league throws last night on Monday Night Football. He showed me some signs that he can develop into a long-term starter in the NFL. There are still five winless teams ranked higher than the Raiders, but that may change next week -- if he can go after his concussion against the Broncos.

    And our next opponent ...

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    29/22(-7) What has happened to this team? They look lost. Can they save their season at Kansas City?
    New_York ESPN.com 29/20(-9) The Panthers sacked Eli Manning seven times Sunday, third most in Eli's career. New York's 13 turnovers lead the league, a total it didn't hit until Week 10 last year.
    Giants Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    29/24(-5) The Giants are 0-3 for the first time since 1996 and the 38-point loss to the Panthers is the team's worst loss in the Tom Coughlin era.

    Chiefs move up a little and Prisco over-reacts (as usual) to the Raiders beating the Chargers.

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division for Week 5:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) They were pushed to the limits, and the defense was exposed against the Cowboys, but that won't be an issue this week against the Jaguars. How ugly will it get?
    Denver ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) The Broncos scored 51 points. Peyton Manning completed 78.6 percent of 42 attempts for 414 yards and four touchdowns Sunday. Broncos receivers amassed 205 yards after catches. None of those are season highs.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) The Broncos have scored 50+ points in back-to-back weeks. With the Jaguars on the schedule this weekend, can we go ahead and say it's three consecutive weeks?

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    3/5(+2) Alex Smith is doing a lot of things right and that defense gets after the quarterback. The schedule is soft coming up too.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com 3/5(+2) This defense is for real. Kansas City's 21 sacks and minus-3 TD-Int differential are both tops in the league. Back-to-back tests are coming, hosting Oakland and Houston.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    4/5(+1) This defense is for real. Kansas City's 21 sacks and minus-3 TD-Int differential are both tops in the league. Back-to-back tests are coming, hosting Oakland and Houston.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    25/17(-8) That was a bad loss at Oakland as a favorite. Their fast start sure has faded quickly.
    San_Diego ESPN.com 20/17(-3) Philip Rivers had three career 400-yard passing games before reaching 400 in three of his past four games. The problem Sunday was his three interceptions (third-career 3-INT game).
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    20/16(-4) In his first nine seasons in the NFL, Philip Rivers threw for 400 yards just three times. He now has three 400-yard games this season.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    24/28(+4) Terrelle Pryor has really given this team some life. I like the way he played against the Chargers. He was so good they cut Matt Flynn.
    Oakland ESPN.com 24/28(+4) Terrelle Pryor was pretty good while everyone was asleep. His 18-of-23 passing and two touchdowns paced an impressive win, and Pryor's 54 Total QBR ranks 14th in the league this year.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    26/31(+5) Terrelle Pryor actually showed some good arm action on Sunday night. But the fact that the Raiders went after Josh Freeman should tell you exactly what they think about Pryor being the long-term starter.

    And our next opponent ...

    This is as high as we are going to go until we beat the Donkeys ... unless somebody else beats them first!

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division after Week 6:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) It wasn't as easy as expected, but they got the job done against Jacksonville. Now Peyton Manning returns to Indianapolis. Ready for the hype?
    Denver ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) Circle Week 11. Indy presents a nice story, but Washington, a bye and San Diego are also between now and the Broncos' all-important first meeting with the 6-0 Chiefs..
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    1/1(-) Denver has the No. 1 scoring offense, total offense and passing offense -- but also the worst passing defense, the 29th ranked total defense and the 24th ranked scoring defense. They are beatable.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    2/3(+1) Andy Reid has done a heck of a job with this team. I love watching that defense feast on quarterbacks.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com 2/3(+1) Is it Week 11 yet? Kansas City's elite defense kept rolling Sunday, but the Chiefs face Houston, Cleveland, Buffalo and the bye week before finally meeting Peyton's Broncos.
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    2/4(+2) The Chiefs had 10 sacks on Sunday. They now have 31 on the season...four more than they had all of last year!

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    22/25(+3) That was an impressive victory Monday night for the Chargers. They ran it and played good defense. Where did that come from?
    San_Diego ESPN.com 15/20(+5) Keenan Allen had career highs in targets (12) and receptions (nine) in Monday's win. Philip Rivers was 7-for-7 targeting Allen 5 yards or fewer downfield.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    16/20(+4) Ryan Mathews broke the 100-yard rushing mark for the first time since Week 14 of 2011.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    27/24(-3) That offensive line was horrible against Kansas City. They let a good defensive effort go to waste.
    Oakland ESPN.com 26/24(-2) Terrelle Pryor was sacked 10 times Sunday, the most since Greg McElroy was sacked 11 times in Week 16 last year. Only five quarterbacks since 2001 have reached double digits.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    29/31(-3) The Raiders never reached the redzone on Sunday and had a season-high 11 penalties in the game.

    And our next opponent ...

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    20/17(-3) How low can they go? And this time they couldn't even blame it on Matt Schaub.
    Houston ESPN.com 22/17(-5) Out goes Matt Schaub, in comes T.J. Yates ... and yet another pick-six. The comedy of errors that is the Texans right now probably won't look much better at Arrowhead in Week 7.
    Texans Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    16/20(-4) You get your wish, Houston.

    By now I'm sure this is old news to anyone in this forum, but I will post it here anyway for posterity. Thanks Indianapolis.

    Here are the Power Rankings for our division after Week 7:

    Team Source TW/LW(change) Comment
    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    Full Listings
    1/3(+2) At 7-0, they are the class of the league. Give Andy Reid credit for getting this team off to a hot start.
    Kansas_City ESPN.com
    Full Listings
    1/2(+1) The Chiefs defense has been devastating this season, leading the NFL in PPG allowed (11.6), sacks (35) and passes defended/intercepted (47).
    Chiefs Brian Billick
    @FoxSpots.com
    Full Listings
    1/2(+1) This defense hasn't given up more than 17 points yet this season and has a league-high 35 sacks on the year. Absolutely dominant.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    1/4(-3) They had some protection issues against the Colts that have to be fixed. And the defense had some troubles, too.
    Denver ESPN.com 3/1(-2) Fumbling may be the Broncos' biggest weakness. Denver lost two big ones against Indianapolis, and no team has fumbled more this season.
    Broncos Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    3/1(-2) Peyton Manning was sacked four times on Sunday night, the most he's been sacked in a game since 2007.

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    15/22(+7) They head to their bye with a 4-3 record and Philip Rivers has been fantastic. Can they keep it going?
    San_Diego ESPN.com 12/15(+3) Believe it or not, Ryan Mathews is the only player this season to rush for 100 yards in consecutive games.
    Chargers Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    11/16(+5) Do you think Philip Rivers has already cleared space on his mantle for the Comeback Player of the Year trophy?

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    29/27(-2) They come off their bye with a home game against Pittsburgh. The rest of this season is about finding out if Terrelle Pryor is the long-term answer.
    Oakland ESPN.com 28/26(-2) After nine sacks against Kansas City, Terrelle Pryor should have spent the bye working on his release time. No QB has held onto the ball longer on average this season.
    Raiders Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    28/29(+1) The Raiders' next two opponents have a combined five wins -- and they get them both at home. It is time to show up.

    And our next opponent ...

    Pete Prisco
    @CBSSports.com
    26/24(-2) Brandon Weeden is not the answer. But the replacement will come in the draft.
    Cleveland ESPN.com 22/18(-4) The Browns don't have many offensive weapons, so why were Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron targeted only two times in the first three quarters of Sunday's loss to the Packers?
    Browns Brian Billick
    @FoxSports.com
    25/18(-7) The NFL just looks too big and fast for Brandon Weeden.
