Oh, I understand completely. It's all good. It's just that there are a lot of people who think these trends mean something. And in this case it means that those teams weren't too good. That's why they had new coaches---because they were bad enough to get their old coaches fired!

By the way, the one team on that list that bucked the trend, the Seahawks, were in the middle of an 8-2 run before they lost 5 of their last 6 games to finish 9-7. Let's hope Reid can do what Holmgren did with Seattle.

That was my though when I saw that, thinking how the penalty must've been a morale killer for that young rook! But they turned right around and made an equally devastating punt next play.

Exactly so....but if you really watch the play he actually did a decent job when he got to the ball. Avoided downing it while he had a foot in the endzone and bracketed the ball with his feet before he downed it so it couldn't wiggle away. A rookie mistake yes, but I'm betting he didn't realize he had stepped out of bounds. A rookie mistake but despite it he showed he was thinking. I've seen many rookies make the mistake of downing a ball on the 1 when they has a foot in the endzone. I give him a pass on the out of bounds mistake since he showed he was thinking....especially since it didn't "cost us" because the subsequent punt was damn near as good. I don't think he will ever make that out of bounds mistake again knowing what it could have meant.

    GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The key to the game is going to be the defense going against Philly high speed offense. That's going to be huge the offense keeping the ball would be huge. It's the type of a game that having the "game manager" we have heard so much about might play into our hands lets get it done

No, the chances of tails coming up would still be one in two regardless of what happened in the past. People are confusing "trends" with "cause and effect." Generally speaking trends like these go against the odds rather than along with the odds.

The 2006 Bills finished 7-9 (3-5 on the road), 2003 Lions; 5-11 (0-8 OTR), 1997 Jets; 9-7 (4-4 OTR), 1996 Ravens; 4-12 (0-8 OTR). That's a combined road record of 12-25 for those teams that lost in your chart. They weren't just losing to their coaches' former teams. They were losing to lots of teams because they weren't very good. We don't know if this Chiefs team is any good or not, yet, because they have only played two games so far. But what other teams did with other coaches has nothing to do with tonight's game. All that matters is how good the Chiefs and the Eagles are.
Agreed. History only repeats itself if you're unwilling to make changes. A lot of those teams didn't make changes, or didn't make the right ones. So much of it depends on what the organization is willing to do.

Exactly. THIS. After watching how things have worked out for the '13 draft class, as a Chiefs fan I'm grateful for who we got.

Something that also needs to be mentioned is how a lot of the Pissoli picks that had been truly borderline at best have REALLY stepped up to the plate this year. Shows the difference a good coach makes. Reid has instilled a "Will to Win"!

Most notably Poe and Berry. I hope that the four O-Lineman he drafted, also step up there to the plate as the season goes on, as well.

Pissoli, huh? Come to think of it, he did p!ss his chance at being a GM down the drain & it'd been laughable, if it weren't as the Chiefs GM.
