Wide receiver Kyle Williams is the latest to make the move from San Francisco to Kansas City. Williams was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday and claimed by the Chiefs on Wednesday. I'm not sold on this move. We'll have to wait and see.

I see this strictly as a confidence booster for Alex Smith.

They did release Chad Hall to make room for Kyle Williams.

Or maybe the opposite. I hope Alex Smith doesnt blame Williams the same way the kicker from Ace Ventura blamed the holder for missing the FG!

I have to assume that the idea was at least mentioned to Alex Smith before action was taken. Looking at Williams stats, he did have his best years in San Fran in 2011 and 2012 when Alex Smith was QB. Though those years were not exactly overwhelming.

If any team has a history of doing well with ex-49'er's....It's KC. It's also a sign of a front office doing it's job to try and fix the obvious with seven games to get new players ready before the playoffs...

I do remember seeing Williams catch the deep ball for a 43-yard TD from Alex in a 2012 against Buffalo.
