Default Thoughts on the game Chiefs 45 Redskins 10

    The GOOD:

Just about everything. Offense, Defense, and Special teams all pitched in and the sum of these 3 parts equaled the Chiefs best overall performance of the year.

The mental toughness displayed by the Chiefs team to ignore the elements & go out and play football and this cannot be understated. Especially, Alex Smith, as he had nowhere near the struggles with the inclement weather that RGIII did. Alex played as though it was perfect weather & I'm betting money that if Manning and the Donkeys have to play in snowy weather, they won't be able to hack it.

Knile Davis getting his 1st rushing TD on a brilliant piece of running. Many considered the selection of Davis to be a draft day whiff, but it might be a Home Run in the not-too-distant future.

O-Line play was good and Stephenson & Fisher both did a good job against Orakpo and Kerrigan. No sacks given up or any penalties committed by either and the future looks promising with these two young athletic Tackles. Granted, there might be struggles in upcoming games, but to me, both are worth taking the time to develop and let them go through the growing pains to get valuable experience.

After a month long dry spell, the opposing QB was once again having to deal with fierce pressure & went down 6 times. Granted, the Skins O-Line isn't that good, but ask yourself an honest question -- is the Donkeys O-Line really THAT much better or do they simply get away with holding a lot more often just for Manning's sake?

Kick returns. The Chiefs just ripped the Skin's guts out in this area. No two ways about it.

Defense pitched a 2nd half shutout.

    The BAD:

Chase Daniel. I predict in 2014, he won't be the #2 QB. Bray should pass him by.

    The UGLY:

Not much outside of Daniel and Cooper getting the wind knocked out of him.

    ================================================== ===================

BTW, Fasano may be getting back on the field next week and Reid said Houston is progressing with his injury.

To me the 2nd half shutout is the biggest thing. This defense had been picked apart for the past 3 weeks. They needed a pick me up game. It would have been easy for them to lose some focus in a game like that and give up a td or two in a blow out. But they didn't and that was great to see.

It was great getting the win in grand fashion, I hate playing these types of games against teams with nothing to lose. We have to stay focused though because despite their record I expect a tougher game next week in Oakland who, also, has nothing to lose.

THRILLING WIN!!!!! The whole damned team came together. Defense played like Stonewall Jackson. Offense looked like a hot knife through butter. Special teams...2 TDs....what more can I say?

Yeah, I know....the scumskins SUCK....but we flat out BRUTALIZED them.......and that is what really good teams do to bad teams.....they BRUTALIZE then. Shades of Ned Beatty and "Deliverance". SQUEEL!!!! SQUEEL LIKE A PIG!!!!

Win again and we just might get to visit the double-damned donkeys again. They KNOW they can't beat us again this year. NOT A CHANCE!!!!

I forgot to mention. Charles looked liked the Charles of old. He's healthy now, as opposed to playing the first several games with severe blisters on his feet. 19 carries, 151 yards are certainly Charles-like numbers. And a pair of TD's, one rushing and one receiving.

And we aren't talking about dropped passes regarding today's game. They would have had a legit excuse today because of the weather, but it was kept to a minimum.

We BRUTALIZED the scumskins. We're going to do the same to the raiders and the colts. 13-3 baby!!!!! Hope forehead is enjoying the run that the CHIEFS are going to end. Zebras won't be able to save him. His third game against the Chiefs this year will be the last football game he ever plays. DEAD DONKEY!!!!!!

not gonna brag (oh yes I am) been saying DeVito was more to this defense and to TAMBA Hali than everyone gave home credit for. He comes back after 3 WEEKS injury and the defense comes alive again with QB pressure all day! A healthy Tyson Jackson helped hugely as well. The chiefs defense got injured which could be a good thing long term. It forced the offense to step up and compete and now we have a more balanced team because of it. If the media doesn't see that the chiefs are a team that shouldn't be taken lightly they are dead wrong!

One huge positive I saw on the stat sheet was Knile Davis getting involved. Reid is trusting him again to get the ball, that can only help his confidence, which hopefully will make him even better (hopefully he won't get ****y with the ball). It definitely won't hurt to have him be mixed in to keep Charles rested right before the playoffs. Teams will not be able to guess the play when Davis is out.

Cannot wait until Houston gets back. I kinda hope we save him for the Colts, and show what our defense can do against them.

When was the last time we blew out a team to the effect that the game was over by HT ? I can't remember off the top of my head but it's been a while.

it was so great to see the whole team performing well and it goes to show what can happen when everything comes together. Alex Smith continues to prove me wrong, I initially thought he was not the answer long term but if he carries on playing like he is then that opinion could change. The receivers where actually holding on to the ball which was impressive considering the conditions. They just need to be more consistent in that regard.

We shouldn't get too carried away because of the poor opposition but it's still nice to win by a big margin.
