Notes: The NFL has reduced the amount of time to make each pick in the first round from 15 minutes to 10.
This year, the prospective draftees are permitted to select their own "Walk up" music. That should be interesting!

The Houston Texans are on the clock.

Got a good QB IMO that if things dont get worked out with Smith's contract situation I feel really good about

and late added to the oline

the only thing I would change is the rb pick for a wr but overall happy with the draft
Really though I see that RB being used like McCluster, so he essentially may be a WR.

Apparently there is a chance that Duvernay-Tardif will be a first round pick in the Canadian draft. I wonder if he would consider ditching us for the CFL?

Another O-Lineman and this one can play Tackle or Guard and he's 6-5 and 321 lbs and also very athletic and he's a native of Canada and I knew this guy was on their radar and they wanted him with one of these two 6th round choices pick.

The Chiefs hit the jackpot with these pair of 6th round selections. Andy Reid got an All-Pro Center for Philly in round 6 in Jason Kelce. C Eric Kush came last year in round 6 and he may push for a starting job this year or may displace Hudson next year. And of course, Fisher drafted with the top pick last year. I love the way Reid/Dorsey are paying attention to the O-Line and are going to build it & maintain it with their guys.

These last two picks were a great way to finish up this draft. Duvernay-Tardif has a 4.0 GPA in medicine & a mean streak on the football field.

He already has, I believe, as he participated in the East-West Shrine game & there's more money to be had playing football in the U.S. than in Canada. I don't believe Dorsey would have drafted him if there was any doubt about him coming down to the U.S. to play football. They worked him out and had a private visit with him.

Edit: Just saw this quote at kcchiefs.com:

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif: "I'm so excited. I had a great visit last month and now I can't wait to come to town and get to work."

    That settles that.

And Dee Ford is a concert-level pianist. We may not outscore a lot of teams, but we will certainly outclass most of them.

Jackson Jeffcoat, L'damian Washington and Dion Bailey are the first 3 names that spring to mind when thinking about undrafted players.

No WRs. Obviously not any good enough for their board when they were picking. And if anyone is complaining, why draft a guy that they obviously think is worse than Hemingway, Avery, or Jenkins?

The Murray pick is smart for several reasons. Most 5th round prospects, regardless of position, are washed out of the league in 3 years. It's a flyer on a QB that has some definite upside. Even if he is only a backup QB (like many 5th rounders), he's a much cheaper option than signing a veteran backup. Daniels cost the team a 3yr/$10M contract to be a backup. Murray will be under team control for 4 years and cost under $3M TOTAL.

I'm assuming they keep Bray (maybe not), but if they do, you now have TWO guys who could be the future at the QB position. This is essentially what Seattle did with Russell Wilson. Kept exploring options and finally he panned out. Spending a 5th round pick on a QB that was obviously at the top of their board is a smart move. You're typically not plucking out 5-year starters at any position in the 5th round anyway. Take a look at the 5th round of the 2012 draft. How many of these guys have you heard of?

Hey, if they hit the jackpot with the Murray selection & he turns out to be a quality QB, then great. Time will tell.

As for the pair of 6th round choices, I will not be surprised if they turn out to be better players than Pioli's two Illinois guys that he drafted, Allen and Asamoah, who both have disappointed in KC.
