Notes: The NFL has reduced the amount of time to make each pick in the first round from 15 minutes to 10.
This year, the prospective draftees are permitted to select their own "Walk up" music. That should be interesting!

The Houston Texans are on the clock.

I will tell you this before his injury last year Tony Dungy said he would take him number 1 round 1 before the draft last year. He got hurt last year which is why he fell. But he put up a TON of points in college

Well, I wish Aaron Murray luck, because he's going to need it. To me, it's a reach and a wasted pick.

Stanzi didn't do nearly as much as Murray did. Murray won A lot of games came close to a title if it were not for Alabama and he put up a ton of points against Alabama. They just don't compare.

If Murray didn't tear his ACL last year there's no way he would have slipped this far.

Best comparison is Drew Brees, but not as refined. He is a bit short at 6'-0" but has good footwork and downfield vision. Not a super strong arm. Was decently mobile enough to escape the pocket when necessary. Regularly played well against the Ala and LSU defenses which are practically pro defenses. He has a huge upside, especially with Reid coaching him up.

Alex Smith will be our starter for the nest 2-3 years. This was a wasted pick in my opinion.

Personally I never consider anything after the 4th round a reach, unless it is a guy no one thought would even get drafted. The average player picked in the 4th round or later is out of the league in 3 yrs. If a guy lasts more than 3 yrs as a backup, then you picked someone above average. If you get a starter in those rounds, then you hit a home run. 5th round and up is where you take chances on guys.

I think those who have been here over the years know that I'm not huge of drafting qbs. But in this draft there were two that I would have been excited for Manziel and Murray. The fact that we got Murray in round 5 has me very happy. There is A LOT of upside to him. He can sit for a year and then who knows what can happen. He can be a great QB if Reid can get it out of him. VERY happy with this pick. My favorite pick of the draft so far

Two picks in round six, hopefully we pick up a WR with one of them.

Stanzi did win an Orange Bowl and was the only QB to beat Penn State 3 years in a row. Yes, they are comparable.

I'll bet Bray will be wearing a Chiefs uniform longer than Murray will. Mark it down.

If anything, this pick was made to motivate Bray and in case they can't work out a deal with Alex.

Either this may intimidate Smith into accepting a smaller contract, or Reid may be comfortable saying thanks but no thanks to Smith's agent's demands. I'm ok with either outcome. If we sign Smith long term, we could probably turn Murray (and/or Bray) around for at least a 3rd Round pick in a couple years.
