Of all the 2011 draft picks who entered the NFL as rookie wage-scale guinea pigs, none of the guys who lost the most have shown an inclination to hold out of training camp in order to get a new contract. So far, only one of the guys drafted that year has taken a stand —…

When it comes to what's going on with Smith & Houston, I think it boils down to this...We've only got so much money to work with. IMHO the Tony Romo deal sank a lot of teams from ever being able to afford a decent free agent QB. That was unreal money for a marginal/streaky QB.
I still can't believe Jerry Jones forked over THAT much money to him. It makes you want throw up knowing that Romo is getting paid WAY more than a good many all-time greats ever got & that Romo is nowhere close to being in their class.

Eydugstr and brdempsey make good points. Points I have overlooked. What drug-addled fool agreed to pay Tony Romo Peyton Manning type money????? Truly that move is making things hard for every other team in the NFL.

The part that's giving me hope is the direction that the front office took, getting Bray as an undrafted free agent and taking Murray in the lower rounds. They knew that free agent QB's were going to skyrocket in price, and drafted accordingly within the first two years on the job.
