When the Giants won their two Super Bowls under Tom Coughlin, they occasionally featured defenses that had four defensive ends on the field at the same time in order to generate a furious pass rush. The Chiefs are working on something similar at training camp this year. Kansas City has been working on a sub…

It's like something out of Madden. Lots of stunts and delayed blitzes would work with this. Just watch out they don't run on it

In this pass-crazy NFL and in the AFC West with Peyton Manning and Rivers this kind of gambling high pressure Defense makes sense. Teams with a good running game may well burn us and we'll certainly get burned by the pass from time to time, but if you want to beat Manning and company you have to make Manning uncomfortable. Make him run for his damned broken neck. If you can press Manning HARD the Donks will fold like a house of cards. But because this type of Defense is going to get burned from time to time it becomes important to have an offense that can light up the scoreboard. With this style of Defense we won't be winning any games by 14-10. With this defensive philosophy we need to put up 24 points or more per game to have much chance of winning.

That's the thing about this offseason. We just didn't have the picks to overhaul the secondary or WR corps, so they bolstered the pass rush with Dee Ford, and added some secondary depth with Gaines. The upside being we could get our defense back last years' 9-0 run form; the downside is that if teams are able to get their QB's to get rid of the ball in two step drops, our secondary will look pretty unchanged from last year. Also very curious to see if Bob Sutton can do a little better job making changes and adjusting to what other teams throw at him.

As for the Broncos...They got their own set of issues to deal with now. They've blown cash like crazy for PM's big NFL farewell party, and ironically enough they're still in the same position they were last year, one injured QB away from being an 8-8 team.
