    Default Official Draft Day Thread

Since nobody has started the official draft day thread, as of yet, I'll do it here.

Post your responses to the draft as it transpires here.

With 10 picks, this is a great opportunity for Dorsey/Reid to bring a stable of good football players to the Chiefs team. Let's get it done.

Go over here to follow the draft live if you wish:

    STRENGTHS

Fires out of starting blocks at the snap. Sniff direction of play and looks for gaps to shoot. Above average agility and balance for position. Plays on his feet and uses low center of gravity and leg drive to maintain his leverage against single blocks. Difficult to control him off snap. Able to call on additional power and improve position once engaged. As pass rusher, gets to the corner and keeps grinding to constrict pocket. Plays hard and pursues hard. Gives good effort each snap out despite playing for a struggling team. Blocked two kicks in college.WEAKNESSES

Undersized and short-limbed. Loses sight of ball during penetration at times. Hard charger who gets going in one direction and struggles to right the ship and recover when play is behind him. Uses spin move to disengage, but it is usually too late. Missing burst needed to close out and tackle down the line. Gets fooled by play-action until it is too late. Relies on shoulder too often and needs to improve hands. Down blocks and double teams can crater him. Inconsistent body lean as pass rusher.NFL COMPARISON

    Caraun ReidBOTTOM LINE

Fireplug with a good motor and an ability to find gaps and drive upfield through them. He's missing the size and brute strength necessary to consistently handle himself in phone booth battle so he will have to play in a one-gap, upfield defense. He has the look of a penetrating nose who will have to start his career as a backup.

Sounds like a great guy to give Poe a breather... every pick seems to be a good one. Great draft.

A D-lineman that projects to be a 3-4 DE. A very sensible selection & decent value in this round. There was a need for another 3-4 DE.

Again...another pick based on team need. This is a change for Dorsey.

Not sure where you saw that, but he'll definitely be Poe's backup. Great value. Just saw some of his highlights. Looks like a good athlete who's only going to get better in a pro off season program and learning behind Poe. Could be one of those gems you look for deep in the draft. COULD be a steal.

Just look at his size -- 6-2, 307 lbs. That doesn't spell NT to me. That spells more of 3-4 DE. DeVito will probably be gone after this year and all you are left with is Bailey and Howard and little else.

3-4 DEs need to be taller... like 6-4ish. Watch his game film. He's a penetrating nose-type player. He's not going to hold the line against an OT and be a run-stopper. He's a penetrating/disruptive style player... that screams NT to me. Don't get me wrong, he's about 40lbs lighter than Poe, but Poe is a freak and top 3 at his position in the league. Look at Poe's backups... they're almost identical in size...

    Worthy 6-2 308
    Howard 6-3 301
    Williams 6-4 310

It's more about style of play at that position than necessarily measurables.

Who knows, maybe they bulk him up a bit over a years time & make him Poe's backup. Time will tell.

WR Da'Ron Brown is the Chiefs final pick.
