If he has another great year like he did last year i think it will be impossible to keep him. If he has an average year it may help to keep him at a reasonable price. Question is is it work the risk or gamble? Either way the chiefs would hope he has another great year which would help team win. So if i was them i wouldnt gamble cuz i would expect another great year feom him cuz it will benefit us more on the field.

Every time a player has a great contract year and then gets a big contract I can't help but think of Larry Johnson. Call me snakebitten.

This is the concern I have with Houston, not necessarily having the same fallout that LJ did, just the performance drop-off.

Would you like to see someone else spend that money and watch him continue to be near the top of league in sacks? I think he is worth it. I don't feel like he is going to drop off when he gets the money, I have a felling he is going to be another DT.

YUP. Truly we're on the horns of a dilemma. It's a concern any time you start dealing with a player that is looking to get $80 million or more.

If he goes to another team it'd come at a double price - They'd be paying his hefty salary, and they'd be giving us their next two first round draft picks. I hope the team does figure a way to work it out, but the front office can't spend what it doesn't have.

He's asking to be paid for work be put in in the past. He wanted a pay raise last season and didn't get it. The. He goes and breaks the sack record. He's banking he's worth more due to being the best OLB in the league plus back pay. I think they should give him a decent contract loaded with Incentives. 15 mil/yr sounds fine to me and let him earn the rest on a tier bonus system

I worry about him staying motivated if we pay him what he wants
