The Kansas City Chiefs came out of Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos fairly healthy. There were only a couple of injuries that we know about.
CB Sean Smith had a knee contusion, according to Chiefs coach Andy Reid. The KC Star's Terez Paylor said that he saw Smith walking around in the locker room after the game so hopefully that's a sign that all is well there. The Chiefs really can't afford to lose a top-end starter like Smith, especially at cornerback.
S Tyvon Branch left early in the game with a foot injury, which will require an MRI. Branch has been coming in on the Chiefs dime packages. He was replaced by second-year safety Daniel Sorensen, who had a big hit on Emmanuel Sanders. Sorensen ended up playing 38 snaps on defense because the Broncos were passing all game after getting into an early hole.
The Chiefs were missing G Ben Grubbs and DE Allen Bailey heading into this game. Getting Bailey back will be key as he's one of the Chiefs best defensive linemen. They need him. It would be great to have Grubbs back but the Chiefs have Jeff Allen so they can manage without him for now. Although, I would prefer to see Grubbs back and Allen shoring up right tackle.
