We certainly did not show a "wide open" offense last year, but without a doubt we were far more willing to throw the mid-range and deep passes than we had since Reid first arrived. We didn't add any "sure thing" offensive firepower this off season, but just having another year together will likely lead to a more aggressive offense. And we must remember, unlike '13 and '14 we now have a WR receiver that unlike Bowe MUST BE COVERED ON EVERY SINGLE PLAY. Thank You Maclin. STAY HEALTHY!!! If our rushing offense remains strong this will open up other receivers for mid and long range passes. Throw in that "game manager Alex" now has more confidence in longer passes and we just might see a much more aggressive offense this year.

The big thing is that this year I'd like to see us come out with an established O-line. No more musical chair O-line experiments. That really stung us at the beginning of last season.

They said the same thing last year and the year before. Two years ago, Alex comes out game one throwing two interceptions down field and offense looked horrific. Andy went back to dink and Dunk. They opened it up a little with Maclin last year, but the real reason the offense did better was because JC got hurt and we established a good running attack with Alex using his legs on third down.

I think the biggest lesso. Is that we cant have our offense going through one person (charles). Every play cant be centered on him.sprinkle in ware and west and dont make a pattern of running or pass when a certain rb is in. We were more effective on offense after charles went down cuz we were more creative and they didn't rely on charles. And oline also improved as well.

No doubt Alex's ability to take off and run with the ball was a big factor last year. No doubt at all. Between passing and rushing, Alex accounted for almost 4,000 yards last season. In reality it's all about having a multi-pronged attack. The old saying is "You use the run to open up the pass". In more recent years some have said "Use the pass to open up the run". But you make a good point about Alex's ability to run on third down. So often on 3rd and 5 or longer defenses will not put much effort into defending the run assuming that it's almost a sure passing down, but Alex's 3rd down runs plus our other rushing weapons force defenses to to play the run more aggressively even on 3rd downs. And that can make the passing game work better.

Yup! We need a settled and healthy O-line from the start of game 1.

If you're talking about the Titans game that started the '14 season...He threw three picks, but that game really showed just how bad we were at WR that year. Donnie Avery made absolutely no effort whatsoever that whole game, and next morning Danan Hughes was on the local TV show "Red Zone" with film clips of Avery getting alligator arms with catchable passes sailing right by. Both Avery and Bowe were so horrible that year that dink and dunk football was the only thing workable until Kelce really began to step up.

Bowe was suspended for that first game. So that made matters even worse.

So our WRs that game were Avery,Frankie Hammond JR,Aj Jenkins.

I recall the heat I took for my rants on just how bad we were at WR that year. Avery ended up getting hurt. And that left us with Bowe and Aj Jenkins as the starting WRs for most that season. It was bad that a rookie an undrafted rookie at that was an upgrade to Jenkins in Albert Wilson.

It's night and day how far we have come. Maclin is better then Bowe and gives damn far more then Bowe did which was when his contract was coming up. And he wanted to get some money for his sonic runs. Conley showed some great flashes as a rookie and at worse is equal to Jenkins on his best day. Wilson is a solid 3 IMO wont be more then that but there's a spot on a NFL WR core for him. And then there are the new WRS they brought in. If just 1 of those guys can be anther solid 3 then we FINALLY have a good WR core that the other team might just actually have to respect.

aside from o line shuffling last year, which i believe will be a top five group this year, the chiefs are in great shape continuity wise.

the great news out of this fact, is you can almost guarantee no less than a 8-9 win season....

*this many wins in the afc this year will be a sign of strength, not weakness in the west.
