Default The Matthewschiefs Andy Reid Rant

There's an old saying. If it's not broke don't fix it.

Andy Reid is of the mindset If it's broken stubbornly stick with it and never change.

The Steelers game is anther example of this. The game started out with 2 passes there went past the line of scrimmage they moved the ball. And then the screens started. And then the punts started.

This has been a long term issue with the Chiefs offense. So many people want that "elite QB" but under Andy Reid's playcalling I'm sorry it's just not going to matter. There's not a QB in the NFL IMO that's going to screen pass their way to a high powered NFL offense in todays game. It's just not going to happen.

A common thought about the NFL is that it's a QB driven league. I say it's a coaching driven league. Look at what New England has done. They have gone 3-1 and have been down to a 3rd string QB for most that time. Coaching means alot. Andy Reid is a hell of an NFL head coach. He really is. You don't bring a team back from 1-5 to a playoff win without being that. But he's not a good playcaller. And he doesn't need to be. Andy needs to accept this and give the playcalling up. Or Dorsey and or Clark Hunt need to make it happen. Until then I don't think the Chiefs can ever really be contenders. Sure they might get a playoff birth but that will be all. We've seen enough it's time to make something happen

So the offensive play calling bothered you and that is it. How about the lack of pass rush and zero safety help on deep balls burning every single corner we had active. It looked like the Denver game last year. Just replace flemming with Nelson, White, etc.....

Then the Dumb ACES running the ball 8 years deep and running laterally on the 5.

Horrible Punt and Field goal attempts.

A screen pass to NO ONE that was picked off.

It was about this time last year everyone wrote the Chiefs off and the they went on a tear. Andy needs to be get this team better prepared. Starting with him, and the coaches.

Oakland is built a lot like the Steelers. They better us the Bye week wisely.

The reason this is the sticking point is because it's a every week thing.

How often has the D been that bad over the last few years? Not often. You only have to look back to last weeks game for a game they controlled.

The Offense not so much. And it's a major problem. It has to be addressed or this team isn't going anywhere. It's just frustrating to see the same thing EVERY week clearly hurt the team and a stubbornness to not change it.

Frustrating loss. Reid deserves the blame on this one, because the whole team showed up unprepared. We should've expected Rothlisberger to go after Marcus Peters; We should've expected the Steelers D to pick on the right side of the O-line; We should've ditched the screen plays in 2014. The team acted as if they didn't expect it to be a tough game in Pittsburg, let alone play in the rain. We've fallen into the bad habit of dropped passes (again).

With that being said it's just one game. We've got a lot of young corners that need to suffer through games like this before it sinks in they need to be better in coverage.

I am sickened by the loss, especially the way we were dressed-down on national tv, but it is one game. Lessons were learned. It will get better.

This is exactly why I'm not as upset about the defense as the playcalling from last night. We got a lot of young guys in our secondary you have to fully expect that there will be some growing pains and last night we saw that.

The playcalling however is anther story as this has been a constant problem. It is really something that is hurting the team and it's coming from the head coach. Very frustrating to watch the same problem happen over and over again

This is the same stuff though that frustrated Philly Fans. He isn't going to fix it. Instead he is going to force it in that square hole more.

Dee Ford is not Good. Can I call him a bust, or is that opening the door up for hopeful arguments.
