Why this is not the same old Chiefs team

I joined this forum shortly before the 2009 season began. We had just been through the Herm Edwards era and had hired a at the time highly favorable GM and had a new young head coach that had some promise.

None of that as we all know worked out. Then after a miserable 2-14 season in 2012 we had yet anther new GM and head coach and things started to turn around. But there was 1 constant. Something that this team just couldn't get past

In the big games they would always find a way to come up a little short. The old saying close but no cigar would be a constant thing you could say about a Kansas city chiefs football team.

That's changing and it stated on kickoff weekend. There is no way that the past couple of Chiefs teams would have completed that comeback. Sure they might have gotten close but they would have found away to get in their own way.

It kept going against Denver in Denver. Vs a top defense past Chiefs teams would never have found a way to get a late td and then go on to convert the 2 point conversion. It just wouldn't have happened they would again have found a way to get in their own way and come up a little short.

The very next week it would continue in Atlanta. When Atlanta scored the go ahead TD late in the 4th that would have been game set match against most past Chiefs teams. Not this time not against this team. Somehow someway they found a way to win that game. Not only getting the pick 2 from Berry but then not allowing Atlanta to have the ball back.

This is not the same Chiefs we have seen. This team is far better. Just look at what this team has done in 11 days. They went to a division rival played 5 quarters and found a way to win. They then went again on the road to a division leading team with a franchise QB and again found a way to win. Then a red hot division leading team came in on a short week and they beat them to complete a season sweep.

This is no longer a nice little team that will challenge you but at the end of the day fall short. THIS IS A CONTENDER. THIS IS A TEAM THAT JUST FINDS A WAY TO WIN GAMES. THIS IS A TEAM TO GET EXCITED ABOUT

My only concern is the constant injuries to the front 7 is going to catch up to us. Drafting Jones really was a smart move in hindsight, if we didn't have him, we'd be in trouble
