Having added Mahomes it would make sense to be looking for UDFAs that we can stash away on the practice squad etc. The earliest Mahomes is likely to take over as our starter is 2018 so why not bring some WRs up the slow way and get them some experience with Mahomes?

Imagine Mahomes taking over with a whole new crop of CHEAP WRs who already have some experience working with him.

I suspect that in 2018 or 2019 we are going to see a whole new and radically different Chiefs offense. But it all depends on Mahomes turning into what he "can be". I surely hope so!

Possibly...They do have a lot invested in Mahomes now...but I'm beginning to think it's got more to do with the drop situation, sort of Dorsey & Reid's way of making for a more competitive and serious camp.

Could well be. It's not as if our WRs were overwhelming last year.

All in all though, I get the feeling Dorsey and Reid are starting to rebuild now rather than waiting for "a rebuilding year". Sorta like chess. You can play a good game playing from move to move or two moves ahead, but the great ones are ALWAYS playing 3 or more moves down the road.

Actually i think mahomes wont play till 2019. I think alex Smith will feel the pressure and will be more aggressive and will have a great year and will force mahomes to sit another year. Smith had great years in sf when he had kapernick breathing down hos neck.
