Totally unprecedented. Although, it was said 2nd year WR Demarcus Robinson was lighting it up in OTA's and had worked with Alex Smith in the off-season, so maybe they are wanting to give Robinson his chance. Time will tell how this works out.

Freeing up space for a cb or lb. Face it Maclins production from last year will not be hard to replace. Good young wr's have a hard time producing with Alex smith's style. Let alone veteran wr's who are on the decline
