An interesting rumor. Reid has benched himself from play-calling

Chiefs coach Andy Reid is benching....himself. He has planned to hand over play calling to OC Matt Nagy for today's game vs. Jets although Reid will continue to have oversight, per team sources.

I have not been able to find any independent confirmation of this which is why I'm calling it a rumor.

It's on NFL.com too. Reid still has the ability to "veto" though.

Hopefully it'll wake the offense up for the next five games.

IMO this is another example of why Reid is a great coach. He's always willing--sometimes slowly--to take steps to correct a problem...even when he decides he is the problem. IIRC after the 1-5 slide in 2015 Reid turned over quite a bit of the playcalling to Pederson.
