My day...

Wake up earlier than normal to go to the doctor. Turns out, I have another herniated disc (had one two years ago). She put me on an anti-inflammatory and 800mg of Ibuprofen 3x per day. It seems to have helped some so far, but I'm waiting to see what I feel like when I'm done with the anti-inflammatory after 6 days.

Went to work. Nothing unusual. I wore a new Chiefs long sleeved t-shirt I bought today. One of our overnight employees comes in early. She stopped me and pointed out my shirt. She said she missed the end of the game Sunday, and asked how "we" did. I told her about the loss. She asked how our new kicker did. I told her about him and Jared Allen's day. It was awesome to talk to another woman who seemed to know what was oing on! Most women I talk to would be like "who?" if I said Jared Allen's name or talked about a new kicker. I always end up talking to more guys due to that. I just thought that was great!

I know. This is a football site. I just have to share some things though!!!

As posted, I got permanently laid off last night. This came from out of nowhere, and it left me completely shell shocked. I got laid off because I make too much as an overhead employee (someone not responsible for producing).

Prior to this, I had put in for a job supervising our road crew. I knew I was a top runner for the position, but I was not sure about getting it. Well, I got a phone call this morning. I start at 8am Monday, and I got a raise. No more working nights!!! This is such a huge relief.

They apologized over and over. Apparently I was a shoe in for the position, and the transfer was supposed to happen a little later. Those people didn't know that I had ended up on the layoff list. They're getting things straightened out, and it will just show up as a transfer with no lapse in employment. Whew!

Also, close your eyes if you don't want to read girly stuff...

I sent a message to a guy I've been talking to, but hadn't met yet. I was supposed to meet him Monday, but my back was out. We ended up meeting for drinks, and I'm so glad I met him! He's a Chiefs fan through and through. And he knows his sports! I had such a great time talking to him. Our second date? He asked me to watch the game with him on Sunday!!! Funny thing is, they paid me for the whole night last night even though we got sent home. They basically paid for me to go out!!!

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I've felt the need for a change in my life for awhile now.

That is definitely a complete turn around of events for one to take in such a short time girl.
