I think we need to find a way of preventing spammers from being able to start new threads. this is getting ridiculous. I know that the mods are busy, but this problem is ruining the site. I would say give more people the power to ban but I doubt that is gonna happen so I agree with Bikes idea of having a minimum post count for new members so that we can at least curb these idiots from posting all this crap.

I've banned the users involved above, and working on removing the offensive material. Give me a few more minutes guys. The guy had 17 posts with a money shot of his nasty sister.

DH...I did close all the threads. And I removed the inappropriate pictures. As for policies on restricting new users abilities, that would be Coach's call.

You can't restrict new users from posting. You can take away the ability to post a new thread, but they will just hijack a thread and spam within a current thread.

There is obviously no way to keep them out completely, but at least there will not be 17 new threads to deal with. I am not getting on the mods cases either, I am just trying to help solve the problem!

I think the bigger problem is the ability for new users/spammers to put up offensive pics. I'd propose the following

0-10 posts only allow replies...
11-25 posts can start a thread but can't post pics
25+ posts allow current status level

Also to head this one off I've started noticing some of these spam bots inserting a signature (Hailmarypc)...before it becomes an issue I'd like to see sig's restricted for new users in a similar fashion.

I know Coach is also concerned about the spam issue and would love to resolve it. Give him a little time to look over the options and resolve it. In the meantime continue to click on report and one of us will get in here and clean it up ASAP. I'm trying to get right on it, as the spam over the past day or two has been the type I wouldn't want flashing on some kid's monitor.

You will never beat spammers.. Read that book for dummies..Really.. that book xists..Hate rules..We don't want to be a total rule site do we? Freedoom of speach seems to come to mind. A few more mods seems like a helpfull way to go..Diff time zones might help to curb. problem. New mods should have way less power than what is setup now. This site runs great-just need a tweak or 2 to keep up with those...
