Clinton, McCain emerge as comeback winners in New Hampshire primary

WASHINGTON - Democrat Hillary Clinton pulled off an unexpected narrow victory in New Hampshire on Tuesday, dramatically rescuing her bid for the White House in a tense battle with Barack Obama.
Clinton, who's fighting to become the first woman in the Oval Office, mounted a surprisingly strong showing after bracing for a second defeat following her devastating third-place showing in Iowa.

Republican John McCain also nabbed a major comeback victory, putting him solidly back in his party's nomination race.
While Obama, vying to make history as the first black U.S. president, scored big among independents and voters between 18 and 24, Clinton attracted lower-income voters and seniors and did best among voters citing the economy as their top concern.
But a big factor for Clinton was women voters, who had gone over to Obama in large numbers in Iowa. Nearly half in New Hampshire were once again supporting her, while Obama got only a third.

agreed....while there were obvious civil issues that i don't agree with happening back in the first 250 years of this country, there were FAR better values in this country which led to the rise of the United States.

Sadly, we're seeing in America exactly what happened to every other dynasty over the course of time....we're imploding. The biggest killer of empires is guilt.

I was watching Glenn Beck tonight and he had some very interesting observations regarding a comparison between us now and Russia in the 80's. When the transcripts come up, I will post it.
THAT quarterback is NOT a Pro Bowl quarterback. Never was and never will be.

I have no problem with doing things that are better for the environment but fear-mongering is ticking me off.

Have you seen the mansion Edwards lives in? His carbon footprint is HUGE!!! He needs to shut up.
And the Sun revolves around the earth...

Fear mongering is bad on both sides of the aisle.

One side says "The terrorists are lurking around every corner." and the other side says "We have no idea how bad global warming is, but we need to do everything we can to prevent it."

He should practice what he preaches, but he is rich and has a nice house, I don't don't begrudge him that.

I think the approach to the oil dependency/greenhouse emissions/no new coal plants issues is going to have to be initiated by the government because it is within the very nature of corporations to do everything possible to increase profits for shareholders.

They won't change willingly fast enough, and consumerism won't matter once gas prices drop again in the next 20 years.
