Clinton, McCain emerge as comeback winners in New Hampshire primary

WASHINGTON - Democrat Hillary Clinton pulled off an unexpected narrow victory in New Hampshire on Tuesday, dramatically rescuing her bid for the White House in a tense battle with Barack Obama.
Clinton, who's fighting to become the first woman in the Oval Office, mounted a surprisingly strong showing after bracing for a second defeat following her devastating third-place showing in Iowa.

Republican John McCain also nabbed a major comeback victory, putting him solidly back in his party's nomination race.
While Obama, vying to make history as the first black U.S. president, scored big among independents and voters between 18 and 24, Clinton attracted lower-income voters and seniors and did best among voters citing the economy as their top concern.
But a big factor for Clinton was women voters, who had gone over to Obama in large numbers in Iowa. Nearly half in New Hampshire were once again supporting her, while Obama got only a third.

True heh, every candidate obviously wants to do what will be in their best interest and should do so. But she'll engage in double standards, use rhetoric that supposedly purports to care about the people and their rights, when it's all a smokescreen for her lust for power. Whereas I see the other candidates (except for McCain to some degree) as wanting to win but not being so obsessed about it that they will resort to anything. They, unlike Hillary, know there is life beyond politics!

I must confess I know about as much of Canadian politics. I don't know who the current president (or prime minister is it? :) ) is. Oh yes I do. It's Stephen Harper. Heh, I didn't really know that; I just looked it up on the computer here.

Hmmm, he was elected January 23, 2006. But I don't know if the elections are every four years like here. If so, you don't have to not vote again until 2010.

Heh, says he's a Calgary Flames fan but in October 2006 was caught cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Just like Hillary always being a Cubs fan then when running for Senator of New York suddenly became a Yankee fan! Politicians in all countries probably have one common denominator. And that's that politics and honesty don't mix!

That campaign manager is just lucky she just fired him/her - others have not been so lucky when getting in the way of her.
