Clinton, McCain emerge as comeback winners in New Hampshire primary

WASHINGTON - Democrat Hillary Clinton pulled off an unexpected narrow victory in New Hampshire on Tuesday, dramatically rescuing her bid for the White House in a tense battle with Barack Obama.
Clinton, who's fighting to become the first woman in the Oval Office, mounted a surprisingly strong showing after bracing for a second defeat following her devastating third-place showing in Iowa.

Republican John McCain also nabbed a major comeback victory, putting him solidly back in his party's nomination race.
While Obama, vying to make history as the first black U.S. president, scored big among independents and voters between 18 and 24, Clinton attracted lower-income voters and seniors and did best among voters citing the economy as their top concern.
But a big factor for Clinton was women voters, who had gone over to Obama in large numbers in Iowa. Nearly half in New Hampshire were once again supporting her, while Obama got only a third.

You're right on this comment. I've sat through briefings but can't go into detail because of opsec.

That being said, I'm left center. I do not like the situation we're in but I think we should clean up our mess.

I have a friend who's on detainee duty right now. He's told me that if we leave, the men in country they are training will slaughter the detainees because they don't want to do the job. Kinda messed up IMO.

I'm pretty far right on most issues, but I prefer a bit more of a nationalist/isolationalist policy on foreign affairs. We need to take care of our own economy before we are dropping millions/billions of dollars on foreign aide and into the middle east countries (so that they'll stop fighting)...

I agree we do need to clean up our messes, but really think we need to start backing out of some of these financial sinkholes. At least until we get our own backyard cleaned up.

Well at least he is the candidate of change right? I mean that seems to be the most important thing and the only thing keeping him afloat, the more people hear about him and where he stands, the better the other candidates start to look.

You don't watch much TV then. Isn't he supposed to be the second coming?

That's what all the Kool-Aid drinkers would have you believe. After he loses the election, we will find them all dead on the floor with a note beside them with something in it about comets and alien ships hiding behind them...
