UPDATE (1:45 PM): Reeves will be in KC on Tuesday for his official visit. He'll be meeting with the Rams on Monday.
According to the Dallas Morning News free agent cornerback Jacques Reeves, a starter last year for the Cowboys is going to visit the Chiefs in the early stages of free agency.
I'll be he never leaves St. Louis.
Reeves would be a good value pickup...if the Chiefs can draft well and get 6 good players (from their 10 picks) then things could be looking up for you guys.
1) They desperately need Jake Long to fall to #5. He could almost single-handedly fix the O-line issues, putting him at LT would allow McIntosh to move to guard, Waters stays at G, a Center is still needed, and the 2nd round pick would have to be used to grab a RT (or guard if McIntosh is used at RT.)
This would help LJ/Kolby Smith return the KC running game to a top 10 rushing attack and also allow the team to truly evaluate the QB situation. i tend to think Croyle is NOT the answer, but it is hard to tell when he hasn't had a real opportunity.
#2) Hopefully a Sam Baker or other Tackle slides to the early 2nd round, if not a few good Guards should be available.
#3) Need a WR, this draft is rich in WR talent and a good #2 or slot receiver should be available to complement Bowe.
#4) A young CB if you have Surtain and Reeves a good young guy needs to be developed (2nd/3rd round)
#5) O-line prospects (need to draft 2 more in the late rounds, guys with raw skills, that can be developed)
#6) NO KICKERS...don't waste the pick
#7) A big DT...depth at this position is going to be critical considering the money invested in the LB corp....you have to have a couple big thugs to stuff the O-line and allow Edwards, DJ & Williams to earn their keep.

The 49ers own my heart, but the Chiefs will always hold a better than neutral spot for giving my favorite player a place to leave with grace...
