The Chiefs may have missed out on their top free agent targets, but filled a position of need late Friday night by claiming fullback Oliver Hoyte (6-3, 252) off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys.
Hoyte, who originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2006, was a middle linebacker in college at North Carolina State. The Dallas Cowboys converted him to fullback, where he played sparingly in 2006 and 2007 on offense, starting eight games. He also contributed on special teams.
Hoyte has his own website, at www.oliverhoyte.com
How much is he gonna cost?
I don't know how anyone could be worse than Kris Wilson.
I personally don't like the move for him. The whole LB to FB, used sparingly, plus very few highlights (DAL) involve him. This is killing me cuz theres a buncha great, young FB's in the draft and Neal and Richardson available...c'mon KC bring back the tru fullback lov.
T Rich should come back, but then again we never should have let him go!
We aren't even gonna look at T-Rich now. Not after just signing this guy. I don't know what the deal is with the whole 'converted' FB thing... But Herm seems to love it...
Thanks for all the yards, TDs, and memories, Priest!
