KU defensive tackle to try out with Chiefs

LAWRENCE | Kansas defensive tackle James McClinton will try out with the Chiefs this weekend at their rookie minicamp.
“I’m going there looking for a contract, and we’re going to get it,” said McClinton, who was not selected in last weekend’s NFL Draft. “I’m trusting God.”
McClinton was the Big 12 defensive lineman of the year and a second-team All-American last year for the Jayhawks.

How does a guy like that not get drafted? Sounds interesting.

probably one of those "good college player...not projected as a good pro" type of deal...

He seemed like a pretty big guy in real life but I don't know if he's as round as NFL teams like their DT's.. stating him at 290 is pretty generous because KU's D-Line was always a bit undersized against most of their opponents.

Ultimately, there's just too much talent in the draft and some people get overlooked..
